Daily Pics - Vol. #225

Linthicum Heights, MD(Zone 7a)

It's that time again ..... time for a new thread. Some really nice photos on the previous volume so if you missed it, be sure to stop back.

Here's the link: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1004322/

I'll start the new thread with a photo of one of my favorite birds, the 'Cedar Waxwing'. I've been seeing a lot of them over the past few weeks. I've wanted to capture a photo with a red berry in its beak for some time and finally succeeded. But you have to be quick because the berry is down the hatch in no time.

Last Cedar Waxwing photo. I don't want to overdo it. I though for a moment that I captured another photo with the Cedar Waxwing eating a berry but a closer look suggests that the berries may actually be behind him ? Anyway he had his mouth open.

Thanks for starting the new thread!

I just love Cedar Waxwings! Thanks for starting the new thread with them, Linth.
Here's a few that I've taken lately.
I think this is an Eastern Wood Peewee.(I think) The wingbars and lack of eyering point to a Pee wee but it doesn't have the pale lower mandible. ??

You can't put in too many Cedar Waxwings pics.....they are so beautiful. I think a lot of us consider them our favorite birds. I can't tell if that one pic has the berries behind or possibly you got that bird swallowing a berry....

Wilmar, AR(Zone 8a)

My bluebirds do not like my stalking them with my camera! It takes a lot of patience for me to get any decent pics of them. Here's one w/a berry in it's beak

Gorgeous shots of the Waxwings Linth, thanks for the great start.
Glad to see a closeup shot of the Peewee, I'll keep a close eye out for them.
Couldn't comment on everyone photos on the last thread, but let me assure you, they were really good.

Linth, your Waxwing photos are beautiful. I can't wait for these birds to return to our area later in the year. They are certainly high up on my favorites list too. Beautiful O.Oriole and Kildeer photos too-wow.

Crazy, cute Peewee and Thrasher too! Love the Bluebird and the WP-cute,cute,cute!!

Burn, your baby Robin is adorable!! This is one bird that we never get to see at a young age.

I went out today and got caught in a down pour. The Eastern Kingbird is one of the very very few shots I got.

The 1st one he just swallowed what I think was a dragon fly. I had to crank up the ISO to get the shutter speed up to minimize blur because it was raining hard and it was dark. Why can't I get these opportunities when the light is right.

Lith you finally got your shot. Looks good
