Hart your new bed is really looking good! An old fence along there will really look nice.
Stormy, LOL I am having Ric move the T-Bird into the middle of the yard and I am heading down behind the barn to find old cinder-blocks to set it on. I'm going to remove the tires to give it a more authentic look and our grass isn't near long enough to provide the right setting but given time it will grow.I was thinking maybe planting some of that sea oat grass at the back bumper and some of the blue fescue at the front. Maybe with enough time I could get a small tree to grow up through the engine block. Like the neighbors, I'm sure you noticed it when you were here.
View of the neighbors "ornamental truck" from my patio. LOL
Garden Objects #3
Jamie was here with the family yesterday. I showed my DIL your car pics and we were talking about JR's old play truck. She is going to take it home and put it in the yard near JR's playhouse, swing-set and sandbox and plant it. We thought she could plant directly into the back bed of the truck and she has this really cute pot person ( looks like a little boy with red and blue clothes) that might be just the right size to sit on the front seat. I actually think it will turn out really cute and look very nice in her setting.
Here is a pic of the 'Blue Beast"
Hart, Can't wait to see your new fence!
Holly, What a nice piece of sculpture to enjoy from your patio! Wouldn't be surprised to find a nest of snakes living coiled around the undercarriage. It's not all that unusual to find old cars and trucks left to rust like that out in the country. My neighbors tell me that at one time there were several old cars left rotting in the thickets that are now my two hugh beds. That explains the two spots where nothing will grow. At one time there was something gelatinous oozing out of the ground in one of the spots. Older people around here just can't accept that suburbia has sprung up all around them.
I'm thrilled that your DIL can use JR's truck as a planter. It should look great among his other toys! My "objects" are very eclectic mixing antique, classic, contemporary, funky retro and just plain silly. Sort of like me!
Thanks for the reminder, I should have posted my neighbor's topiary on this thread.
I see the neghbors prefer a vine effect for their decorative truck. LOL
Honestly I can't complain, the old truck and mobile home behind us are a bit of and eyesore but the neighbor that lives there is a very nice single man that is hardly ever around. I think I prefer that to having a nice house back there with an obnoxious neighbor. When we did some major construction we used that for several months to store a lot of our things. Lets see it was sitting there empty and had been for several years at the time and that would have been more than twenty years ago. A couple of years ago the township came around and gave out slips stating you needed to remove all unlicensed, unregistered and uninspected vehicles. I know he got the first notice and he cleaned up in front of it in preparation of having it hauled away. Then nothing more came of it. The bushes and trees growing through the front bumper were pretty good size. He has talked from time to time about replacing the old mobile home but nothing more came of that either. LOL
Stormy, I like your eclectic collection. This coming from a woman with a bathtub sitting in the front yard. LOL
BTW, The RRties have been unloaded and I have an empty trailer to go get mulch. Would have done that today but I had my youngest GS for the day. Expect bathtub pics tomorrow.
Randy would like that truck Holly!!.....pretty funny Stormy

Here is my latest garden object, couldn't decide which thread to post it in. My first attempt at making Tipsy pots.
LadyG, That is a great looking tipsy pot. Ric has one he hasn't put it together yet this year. He puts herbs in it.
Actually we thought that a couple of years ago, that their had been a complaint as they went through the whole neighborhood and there had been some issue farther down the road between a few neighbors. But then we noticed that a lot of old cars started to disappear all over the township. Turns out the township hired a summer aid and that was all he did.
Put the finishing touches on the Bathtub pond today. You can check it out on this thread.

good job on the tipy pots LG
Had my grandsons here yesterday. They love to look at my garden creatures even though the youngest one is afraid of some of them (owl head).
When we finally got to the pictures on this thread, they were awestruck by the cars, critters, BATHTUBS and etc..........and so am I!!
When they were not sure if the bathtub was "for real" I told them that I saw it "in person".
We all appreciated your pictures.
Teri
Love it Holly, Love the color!!!
Bump
I've been too busy conscentrating on the living objects in my garden to post here, but there are more objects to share. A quote from the Black Eyed Peas, "Let's get it Started"....
I've had a life long love of Putto, or is the plural Putti, or reverse????
Here's a couple of them lurking under my Norway Spruce,
And here are some more Tree Putti. This came from a great Ebay Store. I've bought many things from them over the years including my North Wind garden seat. Here's the link to their store:

Stormy, Like your bird bath, would go with my cast iron one, the little bird on the edge matches.
I have been trying a "Command" hook on my vinyl fence. I have a very lite weight tin metal sun plaque hanging on it that I bought at the $ store. So far it is still up, this is going on month 3 now.
Maybe next year I could add some more hooks with fishing line for some morning glories.
I'll take the sun down this winter, don't know how -0º will effect the sticky for the hook, and it has not been hot enough to do the heat test.
not having high hopes for the command hook in the winter
Are command hooks those ones with the plastic suction cups?
Stormy, I like you collection of Putti. If you went over to the neighbor's van at night, and planted 2-3 trumpet vines out of mower reach it would disappear in a year or two. LOL Ric
Funny, Ric. But I think they might be older folks with health issues. The whole property is pretty run down. Another neighbor told me they have children who visit. Wonder why they wouldn't help out to clean up the yard. It was once very nicely landscaped. There are some very nice mature plants in it, sadly being overtaken by weeds and vines.
Stormy, the Command Hooks are by 3M, they are the ones that have the sticky pads that you can remove by pulling down on the sticky pad. I use them for a lot of things around the house where I do not want to drill holes. They are the best invention since sliced bread IMHO
I too love them LG
I think there's a Velcro one too, the velcro goes on the wall with Command and the other half on a picture frame etc.
I was not thinking of hanging anything on that fence as it is not mine, but you all are tempting me. I really don't think I should. I've been considering having DSO build one of those frames like Bettypause posted that is free standing to go behind my glider and hold my large stone plaque. He's been busy making a drip irrigation system for me.
I picked up two of these little tiled tables on Ebay. They were $20 each, $28 with shipping. They are new items, not used. What I also like about them, is that they fold up flat for storage.
My biggest garden object is a sporty car in the yard that is under repair! Bo do I have a blind spot skill on not 'seeing' that. At least it blocks my view of a big patch of drying-up, too shaded, Siberian Iris that I must remove but will be a real chore to dig out.
Sally, Are thse Iris in total shade? I keep hoping that I planted mine where there is sufficient light. I have a couple of Sib Iris that bloomed last year, but this year they did not. They are in deep shade. Of course, they may have fallen victim to you know who.
Full sized cars are one of the few garden objects that I thankfully don't have!
I had good enough bloom on them at first- over fifteen yrs ago, but lately they've spread over the years, maples have grown some and I have not fertilized much. Turned into a grass'like groundcover for dry soil.
Thanks, Sally. Maples will challenge anything. Mine are under those messy Morus Rubrus. I suppose the berries that the birds don't get are a good fertilizer. I do fertilize all of my beds several times a year, but with low mineral conscentrations.
Here is a smaller cast iron sun plaque that I picked up on Ebay to go on the wall where my stone plaque is now hanging. It was $10 & $7 shipping.
Stormyla, Love both of your Ebay finds.
Sally, LOL,, Yeah I some how just ignore a few things sitting around here, too. There is a learned trick, with a little practice as the eyes just start to move past the offending object the mind ignores what is being seen and then once past the offending object starts registering sight again. LOL
I've heard of selective hearing, but never selective vision. Wish I could learn that.
What a pretty angel! And I really like your sun, Stormy.
One of these days I'll remember to take pics of my objects and not just the flowers.
Here it is from another angle. Funny story about the log it is sitting on. I knew I needed something to set it on but didn't know what. I was driving to work one day and saw this log sitting on the curb in front of someone's house across the street from my church. I stop the car and get out in my dress and high heels and am trying to pick this behemouth up. There must have been something going on at the church, because the churchyard was full of people milling about.
They all had a good time watching me try to budge this thing. I couldn't even turn it on it's side to roll it towards the car. I had to call DSO to come meet me and he & I together barely were able to lift it to get it into his van. Of course I was late for work!!
