Garden Photos of '09 ... #28
Wow Jo Ann... Your friends field looks beautiful. It must be amazing when eveything is in bloom. I'd definitely have to stop, gauk, have lunch, etc!! I wish that there was something like that new here. Too bad that her veggie stand idea had so many lauses coming by. Even on my most broke day, I couldn't not leave something.
Love the last picture.Greys and caramels whood-da-thunk?
usually not me. lol
That is a nice combo, Shelly!
I bet those roadside wildflowers are a show stopper, Jo Ann.

Yes, Pixie... you have more blooming there than we have here on the coast 5b.... Do you really have JI's blooming now?
Its too bad the poppy show doesnt last all summer.
I agree---you're getting very artistic with those collages, Jo Ann. I love Patti's roses, all those soothing apricots---Meredith, cool spider, & very nice rosebud---Tex---love the fountain, & really want one, somewhere in the yard. Victor, that JM seedling is a beauty, as well as that yellow-leafed hydrangea. Pixie, loved the wegila, & the purle-edged DL. Jen, I need that lily! Leighton, welcome to the thread---Falmouth is so pretty---my stepson Mike lives in K-port, so we're in the area a few times each year. Shelley, is that salvia black & blue? Here's a rainy poppy from my garden.
Hey... small world... my mother in law is from Kennebunkport originally. She is coming up from her home in FL to stay there for the summer this year..Thanks for the welcome... I hate to admit it but with the exception of 4 years, this has always been my home.... Love the poppy pictures.. .I need to get some Shirley poppies as that was my mom's name and I have a garden area just for Shirely named plants... I have Sib Iris, daylilies and Lillium in there so far.
LEIGHTONHILL, nice place to live, welcome. I wish I was successful with poppies. But along with echinecia and lupine, they seem to like me far less than others. Maybe even Hate me. Sad, cause I love them too. I have a narcissus called Shirley Temple (snowball) as well a wonderful tulip called Shirley. Patti
Hi Patti; I have the Shirley tulips here. Also, I have good luck with the Lupines at least so far so good. I have red and creamy yellow ones blooming right now. I haven't had good luck with Butterfly bushes for some reason... Hopefully I will get to see Nantucket some day. My mom was from MA and I had family in Marblehead but never made it to Nantucket, unfortunately... Looks like a beautiful place to be!! (minus this dreadful rain.. lol) Thanks for the nice welcomes.... What a great crowd!!
Beautiful lily.
My Fata Morganas will be open next week.
I'm loving these pictures as we are starving here for more blooms. I grow about 700 daylilies 30 or so lillium and assorted other perennials (lots of Iris.. lol). I'll be sending in photos of my lillium when they get going here... hopefully soon.. doing my sundance here!! Thanks again... for the welcomes.. nice to meet you all!!
Since we're at 300, I'll start a new thread.
