I bought a variety of bulbs (asiatic lilies, dahlia, columbine, Mexican daylily, and a few others) earlier this spring. Unfortunately, time got away from me, and I didn't get them in the ground. Is it even worth trying to plant them at this point in time? If I don't plan them, will they bloom if I save them and plant them next spring?
I also have some asparagus crowns that didn't make it in the ground earlier this year. I'm wondering the same for them, too...are they a lost cause, and if not, should I plant them now or wait until the fall/next spring?
Any advice is appreciated!
Summer bulbs and asparagus - Too late to plant?
Depending on how long the asparagus crowns sat out they may not be viable any more.
However, I just received more crowns that I ordered and planted the 2 weeks ago and nearly everyone of them has sent up shoots. So I'm now filling them over as they continue to grow.
