Hi 3g, Nice one! That looks like an adult male. Their smaller then the females. I watched one on my Honeysuckle yesterday as I stood frozen a few feet away.

Like everyone else we are starting to see juvies...here is a Downy feeding her young.

Adel, great photos of the nest and eggs. The Tree Swallows are so cute. My 3 houses are all continuously in use. Once one family leaves, another is claiming it. I'm sure it's the same there too.

Look at this flock of Canadian Geese! These guys/gals are braving our Southern balmy summer weather to-come and have not vacated our area. Hmmm. Maybe they're waiting for the babies to be strong enough for the journey up North?

Meth, I love the Cowbirds, especially that third one. Your Goldfinches sure make colorful pictures too and Ms. Cardinal looks so lonely. After I looked at your House Finches, I think my finches must be the Purple Finches. It's so hard to tell when they're both here.

threegardeners, here's a bigger pix of the pond. It's got three depths. 4" for birds and some plants, 10" and 21".

It's funny that I never see chickadees or wrens go to drink or bath. But the robins, grackles, starlings, sparrows and cardinals love it. Wish the waxwings would come back for a dip!

It is beautiful Mrs. Ed...I'll bet just having it will keep you cool this summer. I'm green here.......

ha. just kidding. It's the good old domestic guineafowl just hanging out at a farm. Really quite funny to watch.

Mrs_Ed. Love your pond setting, and the guineafowls too. Here are some that really keeping it cool, a couple of young people sun bathing with a pair of Pekin ducks. :-)
