How or what is the correct way to 'sucker' a tomato plant? Proper way to split lillies?
Proper 'Suckering" of Tomato Plant
My therory is to sucker tomatoes. You may get fewer tomatoes but they will be bigger. When the main stem is a foot or so off the ground I will pick out a nice healthy sucker or maybe two and let them grow just like the main part of the plant. From then on through the season I will keep all the suckers cut off. If you catch them when they are small you can just break them off with your fingers. Good luck.
