Hi,
I bought an Acer Orangeola tree online and when it arrived, it was covered in this white-ish yellow stuff that appears to have been eating the leaves, or at least that's how it looks to my untrained eye.
I was wondering if any of you experts could cast an eye over this and see if you can identify the problem and if it's easily fixable, or should I be sending it back?
I also bought an Acer suminagashi and that also has a similar problem, albeit nowhere near as bad.
Thanks,
Dave.
Acer Orangeola White/Yellow patches on leaves - Any ideas?
I could be wrong, but some of the white stuff I see looks like it could be just hard water, and the white spots on the leaves look like maybe they had sprayed it with some oil-based pesticide on a day that was a bit too sunny, that can cause leaf burn. It never hurts to call the place you ordered from and ask them about it, see what their explanation is (and feel free to post here and ask us about what they said if you feel like they're giving you the run-around). Otherwise I'd wait and see if you start to see more white spots before you worry too much.
