About 4 months ago I planted a row of small (appx 1 foot tall) silver buttonwoods against my back deck, hoping for a nice hedge. They have grown quite nicely and are almost 4 feet tall now. The question is when do I start clipping the tops so that the bottoms starts filling out. Some people tell me to wait until the growing season ends and others tell me I should do it now before they continue growing. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

When do I clip my silver buttonwood hedge?
