I have an opportunity of getting some Asiatic and Oriental Lily bulbs after they flower [zone 5], this summer. (July/Aug)
I would like to know the proper procedure/time/ to do this:
1) When to separate after blooming? 2) How to separate the bulbs and what do you look for when separating? 3) When am I able to replant the bulb? 4) How do I prepare the "perfect bed" to replant them in? 5) Am I able to plant them in a bed right away?
I purchased 6 yds of compost to prepare the bed but would like to know if a bed of compost alone is advisable?
