And a close up. They are pretty, but I don't need a whole bed full. Time to thin out a few.
Garden Pics: 'How Does Your Garden Grow?' ...#8
ROFLOL
definitely!!
I would love a bed full of them...they are beautiful!!
Night all!
Wow.... that's awesome!! Now just to see if it has just as many tomatoes.
It has blossoms, big ones. But the proof is in the tasting!!
Ohhhhh wow Dale!!! those cyclamen are fantastic!! Where was that photo taken? What are you doing up right now?
Lovely!
lol.....I didn't get home from work until about 9:30pm. and it takes me a while to wind down. However, Tuesday and wednesday I have to be to work at 4 am.
ugh..... that's not pleasant at all. Hopefully you'll get a bit of a break from it here soon. maybe?!?!
Ok.... I'm off to bed! Have a great day Dale!!
Willow, your courtyard is absolutely beautiful!
No worries Redchic! I think you need more sleep! Being awake at 4 am is waaaaay too early. LOL
Sally, I would have stuck around to enjoy the view...and your hanging tomato looks like mine. Isn't the stem weird looking?
I don't think the plant I posted is lamium. It does not spread at all, and grows in nice clumps. I love it and want more. I'm trying to root a few cuttings but would still like to get more.
Thistle - you are right. It's dead nettle, a type of Lamium. Thank you!
Willow, I agree with everyone, your courtyard is wonderful!
Dale, Glad you have you join us! It is so fun to see things blooming in other parts of the world...especially those whose seasons are far ahead of ours!
Sally, Very sorry to hear about your BIL. Sounds like your sis has taken a beating emotionally over the last year...it's good that she has some decent support. I laughed out loud regarding your river surprise! Your lollypop lily is very nice.
Redchic, I adore your echinecia! I purchased one of the first oranges that they had out and it disapeared the first year (thinking slugs). Have wanted to replace it ever since, and seeing yours reinforced it. Your rhodie is really nice as well! I love the plants whose new growth is such a pleasant contrast from the older foilage!
Bea, Your delphiniums make me SO jealous. Mine just get munched, so I have given up on them....but I still fight myself every time I walk past one of the lovely blooming ones in the garden centers! Your cat face is awesome!
Judi, Fortunately, there are some lamium varieties that stay manageable and they are quite pretty. I too have the unruley kind, so I get shivers myself when I think about it!
My roses that didn't get severely damaged by the cold this winter are starting to come out. This is Playboy...one of my very favorite roses, and that is saying a lot as I grow so many.
I can't believe how much the internet has opened up the world of gardening. It is a joy to see so many lovely gardens with plants that you will never grow, and to see so many different ideas for new areas or plants for your own garden.
I have learned so much about other areas of the country and world as well, just from chatting with the people who grow things there. Just amazing!
I swear I could look at garden pictures all day long and not be bored!
Or Kolkowitizia, RC and Sally? They are blooming right now. Isn't it a little early for Philadelphus?
RJ.. have not had bad slug problems with the delphinums..so far so good. Looks like Lexy is hogging most of the blanket. Phoenix get more adorable every day! Jack Frost jumping into your cart. Has happened to me too on several occasions!! LOL! Many plants tend to do that every time I go to the nursery! I guess they like us!!
Hey Dale..nice to have you on the PNW forum. Always love seeing your pretty pictures.
DF resting on a water lily
Bea, that is a GREAT picture!
Wow!!
Awesome photo, Bea! :)
Cool pic!
Save that one for the photo contest. Amazing!!
RJ..... Pheonix and Lexy are sooo cute! I love the brunnera too. Yep, I think that you should go for another echinacea! How could one not? lol
Dale... What color you have going on there!! But, ohhhhhh what heat too.
Great dragonfly pic Bea!
Katie.... yes, it's a little early for our native philadelphus. But, the variety in question is not one of our native species and this seems to be about the right time, I think. The Kolkowitizia, here, are mostly past blooming already! crazy huh??

Woah. Bea, the second DF shot is even more spectacular. I bow before your mad macro skills!
And I'm so envious of your froggy friends. I've never seen or heard a single frog in our whole neighborhood. *sigh*
Philadelphus starts blooming on the heels of Styrax. About the time the Styrax "perfume" gets sickeningly sweet, the Phils come through with their clean, sweet freshness.
My P. Belle Etoile (a 50+ yr specimen) is blooming like crazy - it is one that does well by the cold winter. I like to stick my head into the shrub & inhale - very addicting!
Love all of the pictures and I too am very envious of the frogs.....I hear few little tree frogs in the yard occasionally, but rarely see them....
The dragonfly is fabulous!!!
