Garden Pics: 'How Does Your Garden Grow?' ...#8
redchic01,
Love that blanket flower! I like it more than the standard color. And that rose is gorgeous! Also love the viola "Heartthrob'.
BeaHive,
Love the pink poppy! And the kitty picture is very cool! And very cool DF resting on water lily photo! And the second DF photo is awesome! Love the frogs too. ;o) I guess I love them all. LOL In the post where you said, "This is a keeper!", is that a poppy? It's gorgeous!!! And love your delphiniums.
Sally_OR,
Whatever that white flower is that your neighbor has, it's gorgeous! And I love that grouping of Lollipop lilies. I just planted a couple this year and hope they get to be that pretty! Also love the blooms on your coral bells. How long do they bloom?
DaleThe Gardener,
Absoutely fantastic Disney photos. You have captured some beautiful designs!
Rarejem,
Very handsome furry friends! And I love your Globe flower! The rose is very pretty too. And love the Swirling Spider daylily. And your 'holding area' is absolutely beautiful!
Irwells50,
Looks like your Grand Marshall monarda is going to be very pretty! And I am keeping my eye on that one. ;o) I am growing Petite Wonder monarda this year for the first time. Have never had monarda before. And that orange rose is gorgeous!
Sherry
BeaHive, try Shasta Daisy Becky, doesn't have the stinky smell. At least it doesn't for me.
Bea, is that a Salvia? It looks very similar to a little one I have in a container. It is very pretty. :)
It looks like my 'Veronica'.
Sherry
Julie….your roses are beautiful and good catch on the little lady bug! I’m in love with your used to be ‘holding garden’.
Bea…your Shasta’s are blooming already! My buds are just starting to swell. Beautiful Delphinum and poppies! And love the blue of the ‘Veronica’. Water lilies are so pretty.
Sherry.....nice picture of your garden! Those coral bells bloom for the longest time, and even after the flower is spent I leave the stems to blow in the wind. LOL
Are those ladyslippers in the wild? That's awesome - they are very hard to find in the wild, at least here. The cost and availability online seems a testament to that.
Where are you vacationing, Sharon?
Slim and Penny. I love it. You have quite the population there. You're going to have to start bringing in meals before long . . .
Believe me there are still plenty of bugs for them to munch on. I just wish they would wander from the pond treats and into the flower beds to get the slugs.
Yeah. How cool would that be? If you could "teach" them to do that, you'd be rich.
Wonder if they make leashes that small? Frog obedience school then special training..kinda like the police narcotics dogs . They will learn how to sniff for slugs & their stash of eggs. With mini salt shakers they will then destroy the slugs. What a concept!!
They do make tiny little harnesses with leashes for lizards- I have one for my gecko. I'll bet they'd fit frogs, too. :D
OMG, how cute is that? A leash for a Gecko? Can we see a picture please?
Oh, Lordy. If I can find it... we moved in September, and a lot of boxes of stuff got thrown into the attic to "take care of later". I think the harness is up there... somewhere... heh.
Bea, Wonderful pics! I love the Black Beauty Delphinium! That color combo is tied with the bright blue/white as my favorites in the delph's. Am thoroughly enjoying your frog and dragonfly pictures, and drool over how lovely and tidy your pond is....absolutely beautiful!
Sherry, Welcome! Your garden is very pretty! Hope you hang around with us...it would be great to see some pics from the warm side of the state.
Mom, WOW! Just beautiful! I imagine that those pics are all from the cabin? Suppose we could work out a fern trade with Pam? I have tons of "cute tiny" sword ferns in my greenhouse floor right now that would love to go to Wisconsin rather than the compost pile!
Kathy, Mom is visiting friends in Minnesota right now, and they took a side trip to their cabin in the woods today (apparently in wisconsin?). I spent a few years growing up in Minnesota along the Mississippi river, and have very strong memories of the wonderful wildflowers in the woods. Flowers, wild sumac, soft shelled turtles, and wild raspberries...all fond childhood memories.
Pony, I too would love to see a gecko leashed! I can just see the froggy school now!
Not many pics from yesterday, but a couple of keepers. A new iris opened for me.
Kathy, I am in Wisconsin just out of LaCrosse. This is a friend's "cabin" in the woods. They had about 30 or 40 of the ladysiippers alongside their rural road earlier this spring. I have been able to catch the tail end of the bloom I am going to try to bring a few of the very baby maidenhair ferns back on the airplane. We'll see how that goes. I would never try to take one of the ladyslippers as they are where they belong.
Pony...we crossed. OMG! I am not sure whether to say how cute he is or laugh myself silly! He really is adorable, but I can imagine what kind of objections you get when you put the harness on him! He kind of has the same look as my Dad's shorthairs did when he put their hunting vests on them for the first time. Kind of a "what did I do to deserve this?" look.
OK Bea....your challenge if you should choose to accept it.....a frog harness!
What a mug shot!
