Coffee Break #13 Come on in the A/C is own.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Lots of nice variegated trees, Celeste, that would be better than Norway, including JM's and dogwoods.

Victor! You dont like JM's?

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

I just bought a clematis and planted it. I also remembered to water it as it went in! I now have a hose close by.
I got Sweet Autum(at least that's what the tag says. It's white(according to the tag)

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I just had to cut down my sweet autumns. They grew enormous and didn't have a fragrance, which is what I thought what they were known for! Oh, well. Now I have room for my rambling roses.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

I put mine on the oppisite side of the arbor than my rose. I hope they will evenually cover it.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

sweet autumn is nice jumper and it does get pretty big fast!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Oh, it'll cover the arbor and the rose too!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

ooooooooh, Celeste, that's a gorgeous variegated maple. I can see why you want one!!

I still don't get why people don't like the Norways???? What are the negatives?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Ten billion seedlings per square yard! No great fall color either.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

is that with a B?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Sorry - Trillion is the new Billion. Forgot.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Whoo Hooo!
I found Dave's Garden on Facebook. It certainly is not as active there as it is here.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I signed up for Facebook a couple of months ago. I was underwhelmed.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I am, too. But occasionally it can be helpful. Not very often, just occasionally. [Besides, and don't tell them ... I keep up with the kids are doing. Shhhhhh]

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Do you tweet, Candyce?

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Couldn't you start a mail order business with the pretty little seedlings???

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Tried to. Kept stuttering.
No, really. I did Tweet for about a week. Couldn't keep up and most of the Tweets were Twits. [Sorry, Twitter fans. It's just my cup of tea]

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

That should have been .... NOT my cup of tea

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Be very careful about giving too much info or photos on Facebook. I know of a couple of nightmare situations......one resulted in a stalking and one in identity theft. I don't trust it.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'm for the anti-Facebook. Maybe, Buttbook?

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

LOL, Victor!!! That's a good one!!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Oh, yes. I am careful. I don't share anything but scenic photos and gardening photos. Perhaps an occasional pet photo.

But, there's quite a few of us from Nelson who are on FB, and we 'talk' quite a bit.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Yes!
Good one, Victor.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Candyce - how was your trip to the Cape???? Are you still doing your day care or are you taking a break for the summer? Also, did you know that Kathy is having an RU at her place on Saturday??

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Louise ....
glad to 'see' you. I was wondering if any of the hard rain got you and Hank all waterlogged earlier this evening.

The Cape was simply marvelous! I hadn't had a vacation in decades, didn't think I needed one, but upon returning home I felt so refreshed! I can definitely tell the difference in my outlook.

Ash and I went to P-town every day and just walked and did whatever we wanted to do. There is a museum there for the Whydah (widdah), which is an actual pirate ship that was lost off the coast. We went through that. We went on a whale watch, which was utterly fantastic. Ashleigh piloted a schooner across the bay. We walked, we ate, we slept like babies. We had a great time.

Yes, I am still doing day care for the summer. I'm actually looking forward to it.

And I was unaware of Kathy's RU, darn it! I have a prior engagement with the other in-laws. (I'd rather be at Kathy's)

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Glad Sweet Autum grows well, I've not had good luck but decided to try again.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Your vacation sounds wonderful, Candyce!! What fun things you did! I'm so glad to hear that you got some quality R & R.....especially after a tough winter!

I'm sorry I didn't check earlier to make sure you were aware of Kathy's RU. The info is on the Roundup Forum, if anyone else is interested!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Ah, Louise. You are so sweet.
I'm sorry I'll be missing Kathy's RU, but it's not your fault that I missed the invitation on the Roundup Forum.

Hi All
I've been so busy, ever lurking but not posting so much.
Today is my son's birthday - took him shopping for work clothes, doesn't sound like fun, but I got him set up with business attire. He actually said it was exciting. I told him I need pictures! Like he's back in third grade or something! He looks good dressed up, I don't get to see it too often, now it will be an every day occurrence.

Glad you had a good vacation Candyce.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Happy Birthday to your son, Deb! He's a corporate guy now!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Thanks Victor - almost!

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Good morning y'all I am trying to figure out how to send y'all so of this heat. The weather man say it will fill like 100-105 this afternoon. I am eying the dog's pool or maybe one of y'all will find me sitting on your front porch.

Better watch out he will get pruned

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Wren! I am in love with that photo! What a great summertime shot.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Don't want it that hot!! Just send some sun.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I see some sunshine peeking through the clouds, Jen. Have you seen any where you are yet?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

The sun rose today but that was about it. Now it is totally cloudy and getting darker by the minute.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Oh dear!
Well, if it's any comfort, the sun is hiding AGAIN here. But it DOES seem to be lightening up a bit. I'm crossing my fingers for both of us.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

the day will clear because i need to mow the lawn - late today!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

My patio stuff is now on the lawn for 16 days and counting...
