The other thing I thought I was fighting was slugs. So I have put out slug bait everywhere. Maybe I should ask this in the brugmansia forum?
Brug Slug
Have you seen slime trails - or slugs? Another critter that attacks brugmansias is the tomato/tobacco hornworm. When they're little, the damage is little. But as they grow bigger, the damage increases also. Look for black caterpillar poop. They are hard to find, their camouflage is so effective. When they're small you can treat with Bt, but when they get larger, you'll want to hand pick them off. They can do major damage - overnight.
