At 3 years into this hobby I am a rookie gardener. It is excitingly apparent to me that I will still be a rookie gardener 10 years from now as there is so much about this hobby to learn & do. :)
Here is my problem.
We had quite a storm move through southeast Kansas the other day & hail beat the tar out of three of my elephant ears. Can I safely cut back the damaged stalks with confidence that the plants will grow back the lost foliage?
Thanx!

Go ahead and cut the damaged leaves out. They will be more likely to attract bugs and diseases (I swear bugs know which plants are weaker and can't fight back!). If the foliage isn't replaced this year, it will be next. You might want to give the plants a small fertilizer boost.
Sorry about the storm, and don't worry about being a rookie. We all are, but we can help each other over the hard spots!
