Something is eating around the bottom of the stem and killing off some of my rooted hydrangea cuttings. I can't find a thing. and they've started on this other one now too. What can I do?
Is it slugs?

What's going on with my rooted hydrangea cuttings
I feel bad! No one has answered your question :(
I would think there must be something in the soil in your little pots. Probably not slugs, you would see their slimy little trail. I looked in my big gardening book, the description fits with cutworms. But I've never had that problem, I don't know for sure.

WEll, I dusted them anyways and the problem is solved, I lost two of them but the rest is fine. I was trying to find out what the culpret was, I never thought of cut worms, thanks
