Comments regarding Territorial Seed Company

In a word, this company is excellent!!! They have integrity; they are fast and ship good quality stuff. Top of my list.

I have been ordering from Territorial for ten years, and have never been disappointed. When I have a problem with an order or some seed (very rare!) they fix it instantly, and graciously. They have wonderful varieties for cool summer areas. I highly recommend them.

I want to add my kudos for Territorial Seeds. I've had trouble growing peppers in my cool summer location, but their Gypsy peppers are sturdy, prolific, and practically jump out of the starting mix. This past spring I splurged and bought 3 varieties of Italian-style tomatoes from Territorial and have been very impressed with all three.

Territorial Seed company has always been very helpful and knowledgeable. I have had much success with their seeds and have ordered from them for 3 years now. I recommend them highly.

I've ordered from Territorial every year since Steve Solomon first opened for business. This a reputable seed company. Because summer temperatures seldom get above 85 degrees where I live, tomatoes don't usually taste very sweet (sigh). Last year, I planted 12 heirloom tomato cultivars over SRM-Red Plastic Mulch that I bought from Territorial. I don't think it increased tomato production, but our tomatoes sure tasted good last year.

Just another endorsement. This has been one of the coldest, rainiest and most miserable Seattle summers on record. My tomatoes I bought as mail order plants from Territorial were setting fruit and ripening before we even had daytime temperatures over 75 degrees. I went down to the Williamette Valley and my tomatoes were ahead of theirs. I am overjoyed. They really deliver what they promise.

My husband and I order a lot of edible landscaping plants, seeds, and bulbs from catalogs. We love Territorial Seed.

The feedback on Territorial Seeds you seem to have received doesn't surprise me. I have been buying their seeds through the mail, directly and also from local retailers, and cannot recall once being disappointed.

I LOVE Territorial -- where else can you get 48 hour turnaround on a phone order! They specialize in plants developed for the PNW and ALL my seeds germinate. Especially like the wide variety of seeds available. Plus we buy gardening supplies there like floating row covers and this year will order our drip system from them. Last year I realized, late of course, that I would need the floating row covers and called Territorial in a panic! They responded with kindness and helped me decide what type of row covers I would need, how to use them, and then I received them in2 days! They give great information when I call with questions about seeds, plants, etc and their veggie "package deals" on plants (like a salsa garden, etc) are terrific!

I ordered several varieties of heirloom seeds from this outfit for '96. I had a 100% germination rate, and the varieties were exactly as described. I will order from them again in 1997.

While I like this company a lot, and buy all my seeds exclusively from them, they sometimes mis-package seeds. This year we planted both parsley and carrots, and instead of vegetables, what came up were flowers; I am not sure what kind! This also happened to friends of ours. So beware!

I've been ordering from Territorial for two years now and have no complaints! Almost 100% germination, wonderful lettuces, peas and beans. This year I planted Maxibel French filet beans and I'm already harvesting while the other beans are just starting to flower. For an interesting read, try the book written by the man who started this company.

Territorial is also fantastic! Although they do not offer smaller seed packets - their prices are about your average mail order cost. They too go into great detail about varieties, special requirements, planting and usage of their herbs, fruits, veggies, etc. I keep their catalog as a reference to look up plant needs, etc. They have an amazing selection of tools - some I'd never seen or heard of before, for which they also explain usage, a plethora of drip irrigation and related supplies, and just about anything else you might need!

…I now order through Territorial Seed Company for seeds. Territorial Seeds even made a call back to see how the plants were doing! They supply seeds and some plants for Pacific Northwest gardeners.

I have ordered from Territorial, although I also buy their packets directly, and have found their materials to be of the highest possible quality. I don't find their seeds pricey because they sell fairly large quantities in each packet (don't be fooled by some packets that contain "500 micrograms", or "85 seeds"), and in larger quantities as well. Their catalog is encyclopedic and includes a great deal of information about growing plants year-round in the Pacific NW.

I've been ordering from Territorial for two years now. We're really happy with their incredibly quick turnaround time. For those of us in "no frost" zones, we can start seeds almost anytime of the year (a fact that seems lost to many other seed companies). Their catalog has *lots* of good info in it including germination percentages, average seed life, and lots of hints and tips for those of us that live in mild, cool summer climates.

I have ordered from this company off and on for nearly 20 years. They are an excellent resource of cultivars for climates West of the Cascades, although some of their varieties would do well in many places with cooler summers. They are reliable and quick in order return. A little pricey, but worth it in order to find certain things.

Just their seed catalog is worth the cost of the seeds. It's like a gardening manual for specific seeds and plants. I plan to go almost exclusively with Territorial this year because of that "technical assistance".
