I waited and still nothing for any of them. I had also planted some from another vendor (which were less expensive) and those are already 5 inches tall. |

One of the varieties, Strawberry Seduction looked like it had been whacked off...3 very small "leaves"...the Apricot delight looks ok..will see....The Scarlet honeysuckle came 2 days ago, again upside down in box and out of pots..Altho it had 6 or 7 vines per pot, Several of the vines were broken. I researched this one before I bought, and it seems to be very prolific..so hopefully , it will do fine. |

A few years ago I purchased a set of 4 plumeria stalks from the local fair. after 2 months they shriveled and died, so I called for a replacment and 2 YEARS later I finally received 1 (yes 1) replacment. So I paid $25 for 1 plumeria. Now 4 years later the thing is 6 to 7 feet tall and I have gotten 1 (yes 1) flower on the stupid thing. But it's still alive so I keep looking at my stick in a pot and hope for the best. So when I saw that QVC was selling Roberta's I figured I would give them a chance since QVC would stand by my purchase (or so I thought). I bought the 6 piece tri colored rasperry collection and the 10 piece super sunset begonia's. The plants didn't look too good when I got them, but I figured I would give them a chance. I ended up with 2 raspberries and 2 begonia. All very sickly. So I called for replacments and to my surprise they shipped me out replacments immediatly! Well they arrived. They looked like last years rejects and worse then the first batch I got. But I planted them anyway and now out of 12 raspberries and 20 begonia's I have 4 raspberries that look like death and 2 begonia's that look worse. It took me 3 phone calls to get thru to Rogberta's. I left 2 messages and NOT a phone call back and finally got thru on the 3rd call. I spoke to Debbie. Explained to her that I would like a refund or a credit to purchase something else. She got kinda rude and kept saying she can't give a refund or a credit but I could select something else in place of the dead stuff. (Well DUH! isn't that a credit?) Then I was told I could only get certain things in replacment. Nothing new only old stuff. So, now I have to go to the site, make a list of what Could replace these and then SEE if it is acceptable. AND HOPE IT DOESN"T TAKE 2 YEARS TO GET HERE! |

He let me know his customer service would take care of any further problems I had. I finally got my asparagus after a long period of time. They came dead and brittal. Also hollow in the roots. Paper bag they were in was in very bad array. I planted them anyway. They never came up. The roots were too far gone when I received them. Very disappointed with Roberta's. Makes QVC also look bad with a vender like Roberta's. |
| Negative | crcgarden (1 review) | On Jul 14, 2008, crcgarden Cumming, GA wrote: This spring I began replacing the plantings in my yard that the deer and rabbits had destroyed in the first years since I moved into my new home. I decided to try perenials so that over the winter there would be less to worry about deer destruction. I am a long time QVC watcher and decided to try plants offered thru them. Roberta's had many offerings that looked very beautiful and many were described as deer resistant. The majority of the plants arrived in Georgia OK. My peonies are growing, the begonias are blooming as are the daylilies. So overall the plants themselves are not the issue - it is the customer service. This is my first time growing lilies. Some are doing magnificiently. Others however are not. I sent an email 3 weeks ago and have never gotten a response. I have tried many times to get thru on the phones and only once succeeded. The message I left has never been returned. QVC reps are not gardening experts and should be able to rely on their vendor to answer customers' need for information. I have spent hours on the web educating my self about lilies, but do not feel I can ask for help from other companies when I have not purchased from them. The quote from the pamphlet says "Partnering with QVC, we share a common vision that puts the customer at the top of the list!" My experience has not shown that to be true. |

What you see on there presentations on QVC, is not what I have gotten. They have shown these large rooted clematis', and the one I received looked like a small weed. It was too small to plant, so I asked for a refund. I ordered the plumeras, both died . I went by the directions too. Ordered the Biltmore Blue Shrub this year, it also died. I am not longer allowed to order from Roberta's because of complaining so much about this company and the other one on QVC. If I do not get what I pay for, I will complain. Stay with your local nurseries. Mine have a one year warranty and you can talk to them in person. |

Three of the four Sumatras are up and growing, the fourth, dead as a door nail. Maybe three years ago, I ordered the Hawaiin Tuberose, some lillies and Giant American Buttercups. The first summer I got one green stalk from the tuberose, no flowers and not even a stalk ever since. The American Buttercups never never never even broke ground and I wrote them off. I will say the summer of lillies I purchased a few years ago have been absolutely breathtaking year after year. I don't go along with the "be patient" attitude. Not when the products are displayed on air full blooms and I am told something to the effect that is what I will experience the first year. I purchased a couple of hundred dollars of flowers from Niche Gardens in NC this spring and will never stray from them. Top quality, proven plants that are healthy and growing fast. |

The foxglove arrived almost dead, as did the hollyhocks. The dwarf phlox arrived with one dead, and the other two died shortly after planting. Will not order from this company again. |

I called and was told by QVC that they could issue a refund, but I opted to contact Roberta's, which I did. The lady told me that they had a bunch of calls like mine and that UPS had given them the tracking number. She also said that she would look into it and call me back. That was almost 2 weeks ago and nothing. I have attempted to contact the company and the line is constantly busy. I also ordered oriental lily bulbs that were shown and during the show, it was said that the bulbs would be labled and that they were all oriental. They can in a bag that said "mixed lilies including aziatic" and not one label. They arrived very small, approx. 2 inch tall sticks with a couple of leaves. I contacted qvc and they promptly had two more orders sent, but they were not much better. In the presentation and on the qvc web site they show much larger robust plants - even in the "shipped as shown" pics. QVC was very helpful, but quality control at Roberta's I question. I emailed Roberta's about this issue and they stated I would be put on a list for replacement again this spring (2008). I am anxiously waiting to see if they rectify things and send the robust plants they advertise this time. Right now I am not too pleased with the company, but I will wait and see if they do better. There are several complaints listed on the QVC site about these two plants, I was not the only one. To be fair, I did order the begonia bulbs a few years ago, and they did grow fabulously for me. I will update my experience soon accordingly! On June 9th, 2008, lillypads added the following: June 9, 2008 - still waiting, no replacement as promised yet...... : ( On June 19th, 2008, lillypads changed the rating from neutral to positive and added the following: In response to a third replacement yesterday (June 18)by Roberta's of my gardenia and pikake plants, I need to rate my experience as a positive one. The two pikakes look healthy but are just one stick cuttings that are fairly tall this time. Not what I hoped for, but in good shape. The gardenia's are full robust plants with many stems, much more like the shipped as shown pics on the qvc website. They all came packed extremely tidy and in good shape this time! Although I wish I had received them in this shape the first time around, I have to give Roberta's kudos for three replacements. In the long run, the shipping alone had to have cost them.... better to get it right the first time--for their benefit also. Again, a positve rating for correcting the situation. |

I am extremely angry since I can't replace them since I can't find them on QVC. I was also excited to see that the company is based out of Shelbyville, IN, since I have lots of my mother's family lives in Ft. Wayne, Kendallville and Shelbyville areas. It would be nice to know if I could get more Plumerias since I was excited to see them grow and maybe I can get my neigbors to cover the costs, once I catch their little ones in a lie about it. I love my Roberta's bulbs because while they require more care than ordinary bulbs (wintering over and what not), they are incredibly unique and are very healthy. Usually my mom & I watch the show on QVC and decide what we want to order and split it. Since they always send a pretty decent amount of bulbs, we can both grow them (and have an insurance policy in case either of us don't have luck with them). |

All three peonies have grown well, although have not bloomed. I have heard, however, that peonies take some time to get established. They were perfect in the early spring, but then a perennial shrub suddenly grew to twice the size it ever has in the past, and two of the three are now in mostly shade. Perhaps they will still be okay next year, since they come up a good bit before the shrub really gets going. On another note, I also purchased a set of four toad lilies, and those have not fared so well. They were really tiny pieces of root, one almost lost in the bag of dirt, but I've planted and I'm waiting. Nothing has happened yet for any one of the four. The replacement plant is still thriving in my home, now that I've learned some special care it needs (like keeping it in the original pot for the 1st year). The second Roberta's order I purchased was for Hawaiian Plumeria plants. I received 4 plants. Within 2 months, 2 of the plants had died from root rot (soil too moist). I contacted QVC, who gave me the option of a refund or a replacement of the two plants. Since the plants were exotic and interesting to me, I chose the option of the replacement. Within one month, another of my original plants had died. I again contacted QVC, who replaced my full purchase price of the plants. Apparently Plumerias are very succeptable to root rot and need well drained soil and bright light and warm temperatures (remember, these plants are native to Hawaii). The only disappointment I have is that my Plumerias have not yet flowered. They are in their 2nd full season now. I am having trouble finding care tips for these plants, for flowering and overall care as well. However, the plants, flowering or not are unique and I enjoy them. |

A couple rotted in the pots. To be fair, we had a very late start to our spring with more rain than usual. Once I found a good location with enough sun and shade, I received a fabulous result with the bulbs that survived. I was hoping I could post a photo here for your viewing, but I can not. I have not tried to contact Roberta's. |

They came with the same warrenty given when I have purchased from QVC. The items were planted on March 19 and as of July they had done nothing. I was even using their magic liquid fertilizer when watering as was suggested. I sent an email to them about getting replacements. No response. August 11, I sent a copy of the July email along with another and did receive a response telling me the policy is for me to return the items and $2.00 and the items would be replaced next year. That's not what the warrenty states and it will be a cold day before I ever purchase anything from them on QVC, in person or from their website. I did check and I have filed a Better Business Bureau complaint against them. I find their business practices less than shakey. |
