And the trees were just ridiculous. The weeds in my field are bigger than those Dwarf Cherry Trees. The fruit cocktail tree arrived broken and dead and I had to pay the shipping to return it! I went ahead and planted everything else and most of those plants died within a week. But in order to get a refund, I have to dig them up and send them back. So how do you dig up a plant that died so completely that there is nothing to send back? Send a spoonful of dirt back for each plant, wasting money on postage in the process? On May 12, 2011, Four Seasons Nursery responded with: "On Jan 4, 2012 10:12 AM, Four Seasons Nursery responded with: We are sorry to hear of the problems with the tree. Our guarantee is clearly posted on the website as well as in all catalogs, and we do stand behind this guarantee. We were able to contact this customer via dmail concerning her $120.00+ order. The customer had taken advantage of our guarantee and received a refund for the tree totaling $19.95. As requested, a replacement order was also issued for the remaining $19.18 worth of plants that died. |

The good: a fern had soil around its roots an looked very healthy, 2 bags of lily bulbs looked fine, a few seeds (in plastic bags) looked fine; creeping sedum looked pretty good. Angel Trumpets - looked like second year's new growth on 1/2" diameter stem with very good root ball (I potted it immediately), the leaves where a little off in color (but try spending 5 days in a dark box, lol). The total height of AT was about 7". The lemon tree looked like a clump of 5 leafs on 1" stalk - leafs looked OK. The only disappointing item was Japanese forest grass - it was potted, but looked miserable. I must say everything was well packed - I'd use a little less water (everything arrived in a stapled plastic bag). So the bottom line – you get what you pay for. It'll be a while before they'll become show-worthy specimen. But getting there is half the fun (for some). P.S. I still would prefer to know just what exactly I am getting – is it a seedling size plant, 2-year or just seeds. Their catalog’s pictures show fully grown plants and in retrospect I was crazy to believe that I’ll be getting something similar for that low price. |

I ordered $160 worth of stuff from these people in Feb. It is nearly May and I still havent gotten it. I keep getting the run around from them saying its too cold here to ship. Hello? Its almost too hot here in TN to plant it. They also say that they will ship it out and a week later they still havent. This is the worst nursery I have ever dealt with. They act totally clueless and do not help their customers. So I finally decided to request a total refund and they said they needed it in writing. But I'm now upgrading to Positive because I just ordered 60 more bare root Hybrid Willows and, once again, I'm very pleased with their condition and size, especially for less than $1.50 each. And this year, they arrived in just two weeks. Last Spring, I first ordered bare root Hybrid Willows from fastgrowingtrees.com at ten times the price - yes, $15 each plus an outrageous $73 for regular delivery time via FedEx of a lightweight, little 8x8x48 box. The trees had great roots and the shipping and customer service was wonderful, but one of the trees arrived dead (I planted it just in case, but, alas, it was truly deceased). Not willing to spend that kind of money again, I then gambled on 4seasons with an order of twenty 2-3' trees at one tenth the price. They all survived and grew so vigorously (in the same spot and growing conditions) that by Winter, many of them were indistinguishable from the 3-4' expensive trees. Granted, the packaging by fastgrowingtrees.com was superior to the mere plastic bag that 4seasons uses (they don't even wrap the roots in moist paper towels), but the roots were not dry, perhaps because I only live a couple states away from IL, so shipping time was probably just a day or two. Anyway, at least for Hybrid Willows, I have to say that 4seasons can be an excellent source! |

Only one lived and after 10 years it has not produced a single apple. I am going to cut it down this year because it is a waste of time and space. I have bought other trees at Walmart that produce fruit in less time. Also the tree that survived was grafted upside down so the branches grow downward. This nursery is garbage! |

I figured if half my plants survived, I would be doing better that with the last mail order company I used (SpringHill...same plants, higher prices). EVERY single plant survived and grew - 74 of them. Yes, they were small and some looked like they were dead, but I planted them anyway. Gave everybody a handful of good soil in each hole and finished them off with MiracleGro Quick Start. WOW!!! The rhubarb has caught up with the nursery-grown one I bought at triple the price, the trumpet vines went from 6 inch sticks to 18 and multi-branched, and the carpet phlox (which were maybe 2 inch long pieces) are now 8 inch circles which bloomed both spring and fall. Several things were very slow, but my husband wouldn't let me dig them up...and he was right.....they grew, too. Yes, I will order from them again....at those prices I can get a lot of ground covered as long as I give the plants a little TLC. |

I desperately needed to plant 30 Lombardy Poplars to quickly block my view of the teenage gangsters who sit on their roof glaring into my backyard. I also needed the added security of the beautiful (and ruthless) rosa rugosa along my perimeter fencing. This would have cost me a fortune - if I had one. So when my long awaited package came, it was, indeed, a dried-up bunch of bareroot sticks in one smallish package. I unpacked them immediately into buckets of water and to my surprise, they budded within days - before I could even plant them all. And they are all doing beautifully; for the tiniest fraction of what I would have paid elsewhere. I couldn't be happier and I will definitely order again! |

I filed a dispute with my credit card company and 4 Seasons sent me an email that they would try to cancel the order. Lo and behold, yesterday, I received the order 30 DAYS AFTER CANCELLING. I was told that I would have to pay to ship it back, which was very expensive, but I think they do stuff like this on purpose thinking people will just keep the stuff rather than hassling with returns. I got a really bad gut feeling about them. For the past 3+ weeks I've emailed them several times and all I get back is "your email will be forwarded to the appropriate dept". I kept asking for thier phone #, but I got a busy signal every time I called the # they gave me. I finally got a hold of someone today - Judy who is a supervisor at the call center. She said some of the plants shipped out and if I want to ship them back (I have to pay), they will refund my money which will take 12 days. Are you kidding me???? Michigan Bulb costs a bit more but the plants are health with good root systems .... obviously alive & in good condition. Michigan Bulb also ships in a solid box NOT a green plastic bag so the pl;ants are provided more protection during transit & the cardboard box breaths so the risk of mushy rot & mold developing during transit is axtremely minimal (again, unlike the green plastic bags). Michigan Bulb offers an even better Guarantee then does these Plantron Inc places ...... Or is it that they know I'll hold them to their gaurentee? Time will only tell but right now I'm impressed, almost to the level of making my post a positive ... but they have to continue the good work! The forsythias are larger then what I would have gotten thru other companies for 5x the price! The Walking Sticks are large & have goot root systems! The hybrid willows look great! Thought they did prune them back so they are only 2 feet, but they are well rooted. The Perewinkle & Phlox appear in GREAT condition with signs of life! At the time the order was placed, our website (home page and order confirmation) indicated to allow 2 weeks for processing and then the order would ship according to weather and plant availability. One package shipped 3/29, and we assume it was received shortly after this posting. The 2nd package was cancelled and a refund was issued." |

The walk-on-me plants were something that reminded of a generic dry cooking herb, not a living plant. These really were pathetic. I work 12 hours a day as a nurse and have very few quality hours to mess around with this poor quality of plants. I am not new to gardening or mail ordering and am competent at getting plants to survive but it will take a miracle to see life in this shipment of plants. I worked alot of stressful overtime to obtain the means to spend on plants without feeling quilty. I will not order from this company again. I only hope the rest will at least show some viability. |

I grow the trees to fruiting age to find out my bartlett pears were bradford pears and my fruit cocktail was a peach. I have been fighting a fungus on the peach since I got it and the branches keep dying more every year. I have tried everything. My garden center says I have put more in it then what its worth. She said cut it down. I contacted 4 seasons and was told to send the product back duh how do you send a 8-9 ft trees back. I then contacted them again the woman I spoke to said send pictures of the trees and original shipping label, and they would replace them so I did. Well I did and guess that was a mistake because I haven't heard from them since and its been almost a year. I was really hoping they were gonna work with me but after reading all the negative feed back I guess I need to just forget about hearing from them ever again. Next time I shop for plants and trees. I will rather pay a higher price for Them. Cheaper is not always better. The old saying you get what you pay for. I hate giving negative feed back I would rather give everyone a good review that's why it has taking me so long to write this review. I hope this helps the future buyers of this company.
