Comments regarding Lee Valley Tools, Ltd.

I can't say enough about the variety of products and customer service that Lee Valley offers. I have ordered from them at least 4 times over the past year and not been disappointed with any of the products. I had a single shipment lost by the shipping company and Lee sent me a replacement shipment immediately at no charge. They said that if the original shipment ever showed up just send it back and they would pay the shipping. It did arrive about 3 weeks later and I sent it back. Lee Valley sent me a very nice letter indicating that they had received the shipment and they thanked me for being a customer.

This company KNOWS how to keep customers.

Have bought 2 of their cold frames and they are wonderful. Had a problem with one order which was immediately taken care of. A great company!

About once every couple of months, I'd make the trek to our Lee Valley outlet; until I found their website and on-line ordering. Most items are delivered to me less expensively than the gas, bridge tolls, time it took to get to their outlet.

I highly recommend their sprinkler systems. I installed an overhead sprinkler system on an very large arbour roof in which I am growing kiwi, but also hang more than a dozen planters. I simply turn on the sprinkler system and away it goes. Well worth the money.

They told me that it was cold-weather resistant and I could leave it up all winter. It's now the dead of winter, so we'll see in the spring if it has sprung leaks.

I have ordered gardening tools from this company in the past and was extremely pleased. The sod lifter works like a charm and is solidly built.

I also ordered 90% of my Christmas gifts this year from the Lee Valley gift catolog. Many one-of-a-kind items, reasonably priced and great quality.

I would recommend this company to gardeners anywhere for the tools and other stuff.

Love this place. I recently placed an order, and through FedEx and my lack of checking e-mail the delivery address was wrong. After prompt, pleasant e-mails they are re-shipping my order- no problem. I happily recommend Lee Valley Tools to anyone.

Love those garden tools! They wear well and are designed for the person who gardens every day. I am a short woman (vertically challenged?) and find their items fit both me and my 5'11" husband!

I just received my first order from Lee Valley, and I'm extremely pleased. I ordered the patio plant stand with the vinyl cover, which was delivered promptly. It was very easy to put together and every bit as good a product as they described online. I also ordered their gardening catalog, and plan to purchase from them regularly.

I have been shopping at Lee Valley now for years. You will always find unique and good quality products here. They will carry products you can not find anywhere else. Prices a wee bit high but you don't quality for cheap. Their catalogues are excellent. The pictures are in color and very well described.

I ordered several of the Watchmaker's cases. They were promptly shipped and, although the metal was thin, they were very inexpensive and as advertised. I am very happy with them and will order more.

Even better than the cases were the catalogs they sent. They have *lots* of cool stuff and it has been great to browse them. I am marking the pages for future orders like I did with the Christmas toy catalogs as a kid.

We have purchased many items from Lee Valley over the years. Their products have never failed to do what the catalog description "said" they can do. Prices are fair; more than fair considering the quality they sell. I wish all retail firms were as good as Lee Valley.

High quality tools, with some hard-to-find items. Customer service was extremely fast at reacting when one of the two packets in my shipment was delayed by UPS.

I just discovered Lee Valley a few months ago, and have bought a lot of merchandise. I love all the garden tools and the woodworking merchandise. The items are always great quality and prices are reasonable. They have about everything one needs for gardening and woodworking! i love their catalogs!

No plants, only tools and miscellaneous garden-related items. Good quality. The (slim) paper catalog I received is entitled Introductory Catalog 2002, altho it seems the Canadian division has been sending out a catalog for a while. I found (and ordered -- online) things here that I have not seen elsewhere. Even for the things that are available elsewhere, the prices were never higher -- and sometimes a few dollars less. My order arrived just fine -- no problems on which to base an evaluation of customer service. Website works very well.

fast service; top quality products

I've gotten many great things from this eclectic company. Usually things go smoothly, but I'd suggest requesting they not use FedEx ground service if possible... this is the only time I've had trouble.

Have been a customer for years. Their catalogs are rather eclectic and contain some great items that are difficult to find otherwise. They carry some of the same items offered by companies like Kinsman or Gardener's Supply, but at a much lower price. Good customer service, fast delivery, and very competitive prices will keep me coming back for a long time.

Ive dealt with Lee Valley Tools for many years and have always been satisfied. Their prices are perhaps a little high on commonly available items, but for those rare items, or precission tools you can't beat them, and they are always the first to tell you when an item is overpriced or of lower quality than they would like.

If you are a woodworker or a gardener look no further. Excellent service and all sorts of fantastic items of first quality not found in other catalogues in Canada.

My favorite catalog is Lee Valley Tools. They have lots of interesting things and their prices are less than most other catalogs that I receive for the same items. Their stainless steel pointed spade is my favorite tool.

I have always had great service from Lee Valley. I have had 3 problems in 10 years of dealing with them. All have been solved to my satisfaction. First was a broken aluminum hand tool. It was replaced within 2 weeks. Second was a window box, which arrived with a cracked liner. It was replaced cheerfully within 2 days. Third was an automatic watering system that I bought and put aside for months before trying it. It was inoperative. At work, I had told everyone about the malfunctioning watering system. My coworkers thought I had made a big mistake with my expensive toy, but I have so much confidence in Lee Valley I just replied "I'll have a new one waiting for me at the post office in a couple of days". Again, it was happily replaced within 2 days. They were all impressed! I have come to rely on their good service and eagerly look forward to each new catalog.

Excellent products - last year was the first order - will order again this year. Received my order promptly with no problems and the price was right.

This is a wonderful catalog. I have gotten a great stainless steel transplanting spade from them for only $25, which is my favorite shovel for all kinds of jobs. The blade stays nice and sharp and is long enough to get down underneath the roots for transplanting. Their prices are excellent (maybe because they're a Canadian company); and the service is good.

I have purchased many products from Lee Valley gardening catalogues. Everything has been of excellent quality and the prices are just right. I highly recommend them. I agree that their on-line site is quite painful, therefore, I order by fax from their printed catalogue.

One of the best catalogues I get. The prices & selection are excellent. The Christmas catalogue has a lot of non-gardening items, but they're really good gifts. The only thing lacking is online ordering from their web-site, last time I checked.
