Wanting to start healing...

Acworth, GA(Zone 7a)

In light of everything that has been going on the past 6 days, I thought it would be nice for us to post what we are thankful for... to turn our eyes from all the depressing things, and look to what we have..
I will start...

I am thankful for:

a loving husband

a happy marriage

happy healthy children

great friends I can turn to in times of stress and trouble

beautiful flowers

I'm thankful for days when it's peaceful. I'm thankful for my husband who I could kill sometimes :-). I'm especially thankful that I can walk, see, smell and touch the bounties of mother nature. I'm thankful for my friends at DG and thankful to Dave and Trish for giving us such a lovely home from home. I'm grateful for my parents who taught me to love. For my wonderful children and my grandchildren. I'm grateful that I'm nuts about my cats and they adore me. But above all I am thankful that I have such a loving God who makes everything possible!!

Kitchener, ON(Zone 5A)

I'm thankful for every breath I take because I realize that they won't last forever.
I'm thankful for the wonderful children I have been fortunate enough to hold in my arms because I have a child the Lord is holding until I join them.
I'm thankful for a family and a husband that love me more than I deserve because I am not the best person I can be.
More than that I am most thankful that I can sit here and appreciate that I have these things as some poor soles don't ever see that life is truely wonderful.

Good thread Nina !

My sons.
My garden and countryside in which it's set.
Freedom.
Education and good books.
This computer (sometimes!)
My staggeringly good looks and high intelligence.
My modesty ( !!)
My sense of wonder as I look at the world and the Universe around us.
Animals - all of them.
A sense of humour.
The goodness that is in most people - if they let it come out.

I was going to say I'm thankful I live in the midwest and was not a victim in the disaster, and that I do not know anyone who was a victim -- Smiln32 sorta beat me to it.

I'm thankful for our strong leaders who, I hope, will get us thru any upcoming war quickly.

I'm thankful for my family (even my goofy husband!) for their love and support and just that feeling of belonging. I'm thankful I have purpose--I'm not famous and will not save the world--but my family, friends, job and home give me a reason to get up every morning. I guess I'm thankful I've been able to keep a job, get promotions and support myself and my family.

I'm thankful I found this addicting hobby called gardening -- I'm still amazed that I can plant something in the ground and it grows. Am I a magician or what?!?

Thanks for this thread -- there are so many things, I could never list them all. I feel better already.

I can't think of anything to be thankful for:)
My back hurts, have tendonitis in my left elbow, my right shoulder hurts where I threw it out of joint in a gardening accident, my feet hurt....and I am getting a headache thinking of all these things:)
Oh, guess I am thankful Dave closed down that very popular, albeit somewhat hostile, religious/anti-religious thread:)

Rapid City, SD(Zone 5b)

I am thankful for this day and all the wonderful people at DG! You people are the best ever!

Louisville, KY(Zone 6a)

What am I not thankful for!?! I saw the sunrise the other day It was truly amazing!

What a great thread, if only we could remember each day how to be truly thankful and not sweat the small stuff, knowing full well it is all small stuff...except the things that we are thankful for that is...like tucking my babies in at night, and seeing the fruit of our lives ripen and grow sweeter with each day!
