beautiful blooms Helena... lovely to see them as always :-)
Gulf Coast blooms #4 2009
Helena - Geez Loueeze! I like the color scheme you are going with here! Your Pink Porcelain looks just like mine, except younger! The color of those blooms is like a dusty rose or antique rose color. Old world charm! Very nice!!!
What is the name of the one you called "light lime on rose star"?
Thank you Jackie, colin & Becky. I still love your Porcelain Becky but mine is getting showish a bit more.
I have no idea of the name other than I. nil Becky. It's one of those crosses that appear and I'm not sure from who either. I got 3 or more I. nil that had nice variegated leaves, that's why I just called that one "light lime on rose star". I'm going to be limited on pictures of mg's that I was able to bring with me but at least I learned to download them into my daughters computer & am able to post. I'm also enjoying that!
Taken without flash here
Becky, I was reading an old gardening magazine and it had an article about Grandpa Ott, would you like me to mail it to you? The person, not the MG.

Nice blooms.
Mittsy - LOL! Your are sending me Grandpa Ott's???! I don't know if I have a bedroom for Mr. Ott's at my house! He must be a 100 years old by now, right? LOL! You mean the article ... I presume .. I grew that vine as my very first MG a few years ago. He came back to haunt me for two years after that until I got all the volunteers pulled out. I would be interested to read the background on that MG though! :-)
I can't grow I. purpurea here unless they are contained in a pot in an area that doesn't promote their growth. (I have such a spot, but can only grow one or two a year! Right now I am growing Pink Flaked I. purpurea and it is producing way too many seed pods! Yikes! I will be sending them out as an extra in all my seed swaps/shares the end of this growing season!)
Helena - Your Pink Porcelain looks very similar to mine. It will get showier as it ages. I love mine! I also like your China Doll sport above! Very pretty! I like them all actually ... :-) :-) :-)
it has been raining for most of the last week I need some sunshine for my JMGs to grow lol this is awfull weather for june
Becky,
Could I have a few of those pink flaked? I'm growing the purple flaked ones now. I hope they will climb all over the deck railings. The article about Granpa Ott was in an old 1999 gardening magazine. I'm sending it to you.
Mittsy
We a little too much rain as well for about 3 weeks, but now it is more sporatic! I hope you get more sun and a little less rain, Scicciarella!
Mittsy - You got it! Please dmail me your mailing info. I can probably send you some right now as I've already collected about 30 seeds! I think Darren is wanting some, too, if I am not mistaken...
all your blooms are gorgeous.. love those blues...
today the sun came out and guess what now more rain for three more day this is crazy
its like its early spring not summer hope it changes soon getting fed up with this going to have to fire the weather man and get a better model
awww well I was supposed to get rain, all we got was cloudy and misty.. wish it had rained like all around us here..
I like this one lots, Helena! http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6679831
Lovely blooms Helena.
Helena - I really like YOUR Pink Porcelain blooms! (Save me a couple of seeds from that vine if you get enough!) I also have to agree with Joseph. That little blue blizzard bloom is a cutie! And I really like your Fuji Musume! (I'd love a couple of seeds from both of those vines as well if you collect enough to share/trade!) You certainly have a MG Party going on in your garden!! Truly lovely!!!
Thanks Joseph, Jackie & Becky.
I liked that one too Joseph.
Becky my vines have suffered a bit on the dry side from me being away. I'm watching for seeds on all my vines now and will save you seeds from the Pink Porcelain. I got you first for Fusi Musume, it has not made many seed pods. It might not be producing pollen.
Helena - Thanks! If you get seeds that would be awesome. If not, I truly understand as I have been there and am currently dealing with that with the Diluted Fuji no Muraski vine on my fence. It has NOT been producing pollen for weeks... boo, hoo! All those lovely blooms going to waste... sigh
Love the pink mist on the white bloom
Helena - I don't want to take your only seed pod. Please don't feel obligated to give that to me if that is all that you get from that vine! Gosh! I don't mean to be a MG seed hog here ... seriously!
lovely blooms again Helena.. i love the mix of colours on the one that looks like star of india :-)
Thank you Jackie and Colin, you all are so nice.
Becky, I found a ripe seed on Fuji Musume yesterday that was hidden and there's a few more coming so I'll be able to share with you. I also have 4 seeds left from Emma's seed. Guess I only grew one plant.
I got some nice blooms from your seeds Becky, here's Pink Porcelain!

Helena - Oh I am thrilled that you found some ripening seeds on Fuji Musume to share with me! Awesome!!! Thank you!! I really like that cultivar and would love to give it a go here next year! :-)
I am so glad that you are pleased with the vines/blooms you are getting from the seeds I sent you last Fall! :-) They have all certainly turned out to be beautiful vines and blooms!! :-) And I love all the other vines/blooms that you are growing that you obtain from other here, too! Wonderful, wonderful ... ALL of them!
