Last one for today. :)
The Long View 2009 - 2
Okay I know i said last one but I had previewed one instead of sending it.
Meredith79, No, please, I really love your red and purple together. You just need more of it!! Lots more red and purple.
That allium is Gigantium with the glad, but I have been much happier with goldmaster this year. Huge and it has lasted forever. Still going strong. It is a little shorter, but still tall and with a very strong stem. I have one smaller but very nice color opening now called Allium Firmament. Later and darker.
Great butterfly garden, and I am sure they flutter by often. I love yellow leafed shrubs, like your Weigela, but I hate the insipid pink blooms they often have, so I just cut of the blooms and enjoy the foliage. Patti
nice butterfly garden maredith - now get the lawn cut at an angle:)
Patti I have to wipe the drool off my face after looking at your photos... really nice!!
love the butterfly garden Meredith
Me too! Me too!
LOL.. that's great!!
threegardeners, great shots, but please tell me what is the climbing thing? Rose? It is beyond healthy what ever it is. Close up please. Patti
Wha I was laughing about the lawn lines. My lawn is the one with no lines - that area all freshly mowed is my neighbor. He is obsessed with his lawn. My dh would be too but he has been super busy at work.
I meant to say thanks to everyone. I get worried I am going to mess up sending the post and forget stuff! You all cheered me up about my garden. It is a work in progress, I always end up just sticking stuff where I have a spot. I really need to stick with a plan of some sort.
Meredith it looks great, what is the bright blue flower in the lower right corner on post 6702517?
Lee Anne, I can't believe you asked your neighbor to take pics from their bedrooms..that is tooooo funny.
Jen that's a Viola I got at HD three years ago even though it is probably it's offspring. I like them a lot they reseed a little but not too much like violets for me. Plus they are a very early bloomer. They starting blooming just after the crocus. My dd loves to pick them. three gardeners I just finished looking at your pics. They are great! I can't believe the size of your honeysuckle! Mine got killed back quite a bit from the rough winter.
Meredith, I moved two roses today in full bloom that were making me crazy. It is a regular three ringed circus in my yard. I am always digging something up at all the wrong times, but when it is the best time, I never remember to do it. I like general plans but I like to be fluid. Plus I have found that my taste in color has changed over time. I use to hate orange, now it is one of my favorite colors and I never planted much in pink until recently. Not together, yet.
threegardeners, That is a great honeysuckle that looks like my pathetic Lonicera sempervirens compared to yours huge one. I think mine is at about 4 feet after 3 years. Here it is. Patti
That looks like it Patti.
Meredith...I wanted to say to you that your gardens are beautiful! The beauty of gardens, besides the flowers, is that we can't really do it wrong. Everybody has their own style...do what you like, if that is sticking things in any spot then so be it. Whatever way makes you happy.
Aww thanks Patti and three gardeners. It's funny how you said your taste has changed Patti. I haven't been gardening for very long and I am having the same thing happen. I started out only liking lilac and purple. I never understood what people liked so much about white flowers. Thought I would never allow yellow or orange in my garden. Not sure what I thought about red ... actually I thought the only flower that was appropriate in red was a rose. lol Now I am dieing to find every white flower I can and have every shade of every color mish mashed about. I can't get rid of anything even if I don't love it. : )
oh Patty... what a wonderful plant!!!... love all the colors!!
I love that Rose!!
Wow, I never knew a plant could have that many colors, Patti.
Meredith, your beds are lovely. Our tastes definitely do change...and I'm still figuring out what I like. Things that I decide I don't like so much I give to my Father in Law, since he's not particular and has lots of room. I think I need to introduce red to my garden one day...it really adds a spark, I think. I have some red daylillies, but of course they aren't around too long. But it will be over my dead body before I allow a yellow flower in my garden, lol! I like white, green, purple, pink, orange and salmon. But I draw the line at yellow. It will be interesting to see if my taste on that ever changes. I don't really have a plan with my garden...I just move things around until I think it works (and that means I move stuff a lot!)
3G, that is hilarious that you went across the street and into a neighbors bedroom to get the long shot. Looks great!
Here is an updated view of my main bed. The hostas are really happy this year.
very serene looking
Noreaster, No yellow Narcissus? I couldn't live without those. Your main bed in amazing.
Flutterbye rose...here is the information about it. http://www.helpmefind.com/rose/l.php?l=2.2792.
This shot was taken on my Dear Dad's Birthday, Nov 18 2008. My dad died in 1981. He loved yellow roses. The last one sort of opened on Dec 2nd last year. The is pretty much perpetual in my book. Patti
Patti, nope, but I love the white ones :)
I had no idea roses bloomed that late into the year. I imagine you must think of your dad whenever you see that one.
Gee, What a coinky-dink.
My step father's birthday was Nov 18 & he also died in 1981!

Kassia!! I bought seed balls from someone in the merchandise section.
It was a perfect Xmas gift for older friends and sister who are not as flexable as they used to be. Besides what do you give a 70 year old who doesnt really need anything.
oh Kassia so sorry to hear about your accident.... hope you feel better soon mentally & physically .. hugs to you
Kassia Im so glad your alright, cars can be replaced, YOU can not!!!
Patti thank you for the info on 'Flutterbye' , it reminds me alot of my climber 'Joseph's Coat'. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/367/
When I saw all the different pictures of color variations I thought "this can't be right!" But it was, and still is a very striking and ever changing rose!! Got to love it, feels like you spent you money once but got several different roses!! lol
Thank you Kassia they look a lot like a Silene I've been trying to get going from seed. Maybe they are one in the same. Either that or a Lychnis of some sort. I am so sorry about your accident! AT least you are okay! That must have been so scary. I had something similar happen on 495 years ago. I remember thanking god I was still alive after. It was so weird how I lost control of my car. The person in front of me braked hard all of a sudden so I had to too. Well he braked a lot harder than me and I kinda turned the wheel thinking I would rear end him if I didn't and the next thing I knew my car was spinning around trying to vear back out onto the highway into oncoming traffic. The only thing I could do was keep turning the wheel in the opposite direction until I finally pulled my emergency brake and stopped. It seemed like the regular brakes weren't working, probably because I was in dirt. I was so lucky there wasn't a guard rail! It was in a break between them. I still have no idea what in the world made that person in front of me slam their brake on. I wasn't even that close to them, but when someone slams their brakes on in the fast lane you don't expect them to come to almost a complete stop in apparently fine moving traffic! No one else on the highway was breaking. So weird.
Glad you are recovering well, Kassia. Thankful it wasn't worse.
Man I did it again - forgot to say stuff! I had to run off to work and was rushing.
Thanks for the encouragement Patti, I need it.
Thanks Noreaster and I love your Hosta bed.
