Yup, lost several crops of grapes and potatos before I figured it out. Each bag of seeds has a time frame on it--Like--grapes is 4 hours. But that is a ball park estimate. This mornings grapes were planted @11 hours before you harvested them. I've had grapes "gone to waste" while I was sleeping. You can never be exactly sure how long they will wait for harvest.

I thought the time frame was how long it took them to grow? Hmm. I'll have to plant a "test" crop, just to see what happens if I don't harvest! ^_^

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

It is how long it takes them to grow, but they won't wait long periods for harvest--and the amount of time will vary indiscriminately

I was on a huge farm this morning (last night?!). Three of the crops were at 98%. Just couldn't wait there for the other 2%, although I'm sure there must be people who do!

Jim - do you farm on your facebook?

Jim,
With your green thumbs farming would be a breeze!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Are you all talking about actually 'farming' like my family does? Trust me, you don't want to learn. It is nothing more than hard hard work and like gambling in Vegas................You certainly learn to trust God with your life at an early age or you would die of worry all the time.

Gail, it's Farmtown on facebook.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Well...........I kept watching and reading................and finally decided they were really talking about farming in the true sense of the word ^_^
thanks for telling me! I am too old to worry about facebook and twittering............my adult kids would die if they saw their mother on facebook..........

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

I'd have to say that virtual farming is much easier that growing beans in a pot in the "real" world!

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

Seems that everyone I know is on FB too, but my DH and I have decided that we simply don't have time for it.
Better to stay away before we get hooked. (Ü) Maybe, someday!

Like Gail...I while away enough spare time as it is just checking things here on DG!

Have fun, though!

Here is today's take from my "real" farm!

(nobody told me that cucumbers would have actual spines on them!

Oh, speaking of farms, Jim . . . ^_^
