Blooming In June

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Tom, Buttered Popcoen has always been my favorite DL, thanks for posting that pic.

We are having a horrible heat wave down here. 90's during the day and high 70's at night. It seems early in the year for that.

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)

Thanks Tom, I've never had problems with Sunray and blazing hot sun .. they can't get enough water or food and the morning sun, afternoon shade rule is dead on. I have an oak tree that shades them all by 2pm est. But the best show starts around the middle of September.

I think in the fall I will have to look into getting a brug. A lady ion my neighborhood has one, I think that I will ask her for a cutting.

No, just newly planted last year, mid summer, so it didn't do much last year. Frankly, I have it in a full sun location, so I wasn't sure it would survive and it may still croak, but so far it's thriving. I love that color, though. It's a wow plant, for sure.

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

hoya carnosa... i think this is a flower forming!

One more photo and I'm heading to bed. Worked all day and I'm beat.

Here's a photo of a newly planted border. Please disregard the grass creeping in on the right. It's been raining lots here and I haven't had time to do any weeding.

not a flower, but i love this EE. colocasia affinnis-jenningsii. it is just so different from the rest. unfortunately, it is a late riser, so i thought i had lost it.

My first Passiflora! I believe it is P. foetida var. gossypifolia. Waiting on confirmation in the Passiflora forum. I grew 4 from seed I traded for this year.

That is an OH WOW passi. Gorgeous!

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)

It is .. almost fell down because of it as I was watering this morning .. I saw it out of the corner of my eye and whipped around for a better look and got tangled in the hose!. The bottom of the flower is even prettier!

Ummmm, your garden is causing you to have a lot of accidents lately. :-)

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)

Lol, getting older is the problem and not paying attention.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Oh yeah, been there and done that.

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)

Indeed! My problem is I forget there are just some things I shouldn't attempt. I usually remember that when I'm in trouble. The flower was a lot smaller than I expected .. I imagine I'll be just as wowed and surprised as more start blooming.

that flower is incredible

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)

I wish someone could tell me what species it is.
