I received my heuschkeliana in a trade last year. It's not a huge plant but has grown a lot since I got it. I love those little blooms. Didn't even realize there was a yellow flowering version until someone posted a photo recently. I really like the looks of the yellow blooming one too!

This photo has been cropped so it looks larger than it actually is.

Yours looks bigger than mine.

Out of that lot so far what Ive got (that arrived the other day) were Eriostemma ciliata IML0390, and H cumingiana IML0168. So, still only small but I'm awaiting, anxiously.

Karen!!!! It's really good to see you posting here again!
Everyone's flowers are gorgeous. All I have blooming are carnosa and obovata, but I am enjoying them.

I've had a hard time with H. multiflora the past year or so. When it was potted in my mix it did bloom a couple of times but the foliage kept yellowing and dropping. At one point I thought it was going to kick the bucket it looked so bad. I moved it to plain water a few months ago and it seems to be much happier ... buds are getting ready to pop!

That's great that you found what it likes Lin. They're real water hogs so that appears to be the best solution. Can't wait to see the flowers!

brevialata and wayetii both have a delicious caramel smell in the evenings, whereas the angustifolia is a daytime smell of chocolate/caramel, but not very strong

Que Lindas!!!! How beautiful...great shots Dom. Some of those smaller flowered babies can have wonderful scent!

(Zone 1)

Beautiful photo's! That first one does look like brevialata ... identical to one I have that someone identified as brevialata. Great close up shot of angustifolia in your third photo, really nice!

Lovely blooms everyone.

Lin, I can't wait to see the blooms on the multiflora when they open. Please post a pic. And, would you be able to post a pic of the whole plant? I really love the flowers, and would love to have a multiflora, but don't have a lot of room for a huge plant.

Thanks. Sarah

(Zone 1)

Sarah: My last post at 11:18 a.m. above shows the blooms open. I received this multiflora in a trade almost two years ago and it hasn't grown or done much in the time I've had it. I am still trying to figure this one out ... what it likes and doesn't like. It was originally potted in my mix of bark, soil and perlite but the leaves kept turning very yellow and dropping. I finally decided to put it in water and it seems to be doing somewhat better but the foliage still doesn't look great in person.

This is the entire plant ...

I accidently broke off a stem of this one (I think it's called Krinkle 8). It had two peduncles with buds and I figured they would blast. I stuck the cutting in a bottle of water and it surprised me and the blooms opened.
