SP is really getting good at waving. LOL!

SP moved to the other side of the feeder to eat. Don't you love her eyebrows? Okay, its the angle. It's really the feathers between her eyes.

How about two dancing around the feeder?

The unwelcome visitor. The hummers just moved to the next available feeding hole.

I think this is Sweetie Pie. She sure is looking ragged. She must have babies somewhere.

Zoom coming in from the upper left drives Sweetie Pie away from the feeder.

Zoom takes up sentry position on the feeder again.
Last one for now. I still have a bunch more to edit, and at the rate I'm going this might take me a while. (350 done, and 150 still to go through!)

Wow, SW...what a great series! It looks like you had a wild hummingbird convention in your GH. Neat!

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

sunnyg, I have at least 5 in there every night now. Still can't find a nest. Most of the day too. It's a good thing I'm easily amused, but I am so tired of editing photos right now, my poor eyes are burned out. LOL! It was fun, and it wasn't like I had to weed or transplant anything, much less do housework. I really enjoyed goofing off, even if my hand was sore at the end of the day from taking so many photos.
Just got word that I'll be out of town the next few days, so I hope this holds you all. And if it doesn't well grab your camera and go out and take a couple yourself. LOL!

SW, I enjoyed all your photos. Sorry to hear you'll be out of town, we'll miss you.

My new computer still isn't set up right for photos, but I am sneaking into my other one to show you what I've been doing.

My hummers are loving all the Red Hot Torch (Kniphofia) blooms.

Thank you Kaper!

Love ALLLL your shots, Duc!

Awesome pictures Duc, having a bad attack of camera envy here.

Found one thing my little friend likes better than the feeder.

I have a picture of your hummers on that plant, too! A couple of years old, mind, but it's not TOO much different! lol

Eugene, OR

It's so hard to get pics there, no cover for me. And they are so spooky!! Most of them are across the street at Carlene's house. I have to go find out what she has planted they like, probably for nesting.

Aaaaaawww, Sally, what a sweet photo! Go get those little babies out of your neighbor's yard an' bring 'em home.

Sis, I got those pictures (it was 8 years ago!!) when I sat on the deck one day until they forgot I was there, I guess.

Eugene, OR

Yep, that's what it takes, just haven't been able to do it yet. Too rainy, thundery, etc. today. All the birds came out in between downpours though.

You all have to see this http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/998069/

Wow---how cool! She does look a little stunned---or maybe she was just acting that way so the "predator" would think she was dead or unhealthy. I've read that birds do that instinctively.

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Cute photos. I've been able to touch a few hummers when replacing the feeder with food. They just seem to like me talking to them sometimes.

Here's one of my hansome guys standing up straight for me.

KC, she looks tired to me.
duc, lovely photos one and all, great detail. Jonathan got his new camera, and we are planning on playing today! ^_^
Sally, so sweet! Plant more of them plants!
I'll be starting a new page later on. Still got to finish editing my photos.
I will say that upon my arrival home, the first soul to greet me was a very angry BCH. So right after I went to the loo, I made up some food for them. Seems ES didn't refill the feeder, as I asked him to do.
I hope they've forgotten by now, I know that if I ever go away for more than a couple of two days again, I'd better make provisions for the house/critter sitter to refill as often as needed. There is plenty of food for them out in the yard too.
Speaking of which. I'd better go turn off the drip soak line out in the b.fly/h.bird garden.

Hey guys, in case you are wondering what happened to our Hummingbird Adventures, well, I just got a Dmail, from admin, saying that they've moved the thread over to the Bird Watching Forum. I guess this is something they do to increase the exposure a thread receives.

Here's where we disappeared to:

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/998917/

We really do reappear there, so please join us in the Bird Watching Forum.

Before I read your explanation SW, I thought you'd all gotten tired of my pix and wanted to hide!
