You know it's time to move along on a new page. If you missed anything from the previous page, like the darling baby hummers, this is where we came from.

It's been a lot of fun to see the hummers in our Region. I love hearing other peoples stories about their hummer friends and seeing the photos they post. A lot of times, the photos aren't the most clear or detailed but they sure capture the moment!
Lets see where our friends take us on this page of the thread! ^_^

Hummingbird Adventures #10
Last one for tonight. She kind of looks indignant because I'm putting my stuff away. Amusing little critters.
If you didn't get a chance, go check out the previous page of this thread and see the baby photos of hummers that sunnyg posted. I am so glad to hear that she doesn't have to climb up on anything to get these photos to share with us. I sure enjoy them.
Thanks sunnyg! ^_^

Nice pictures SW. Busy time at your feeders as usual.
sunnyg...nicely done!! Cute little baby hummer! Soon they'll be big enough you can see them both.
SW, look at 9:03. For such tiny little critters their spines sure bend, don't they? And for someone who's expressed envy of another's superduper camera, your photos are certainly looking beautiful. Your photography experience with dear hummies has enhanced your pics nicely.
And, 9:02 . . . ummm, do the muzzle feathers distinguish the two? They are quite distinctive on this little sweetie.
SunnyG: WOW, what a treat to have a nest at nearly eye level, huh? You stay close so we get to see both babies.
I spotted a little eggshell on the concrete drive yesterday just below a run of honeysuckle at the eaves around the garage. Today I heard a nestful of babies chirping away with their tiny little voices. I'd just moments earlier watched Mom and Dad fly off out of the foliage. Some kind of little finch or something, I guess. I can't see a thing up there. Too high up; too dark; too filtered with leaves. Too cute! LOL!
Temps nearer normal today. From 100+ last weekend to 80's this weekend. Thursday night we had an electrical storm to end all electrical storms (well, for us, anyway); BOOM, KABOOM, bright lights, an hour-full of cloud to ground strikes, rain, even! Amazing. What a Spring!
Best wishes to all!
Linda
Now that sunnyg has told & shown me what to look for, I've been peering up into my ficus and arbutus for long periods of time looking for a hummer nest. With all the activity and hummer-song in them, I know there must be one in there, but it's probably very high because they're too smart to put it low where we have all these neighborhood cats. The hummers are getting used to me sitting under the gazebo with my camera. But whenever I come out, my 3 cats come lounge around in the chairs or sun to keep me company. Then one or two Annas come and perch on the shade sail cables; they make great places to sit and sing, and are well out of reach of the cats---and my camera lens. They like to tease....
So no photos from moi. :-{
I have to laugh at the male Anna's who thinks he owns the front feeder (just outside the kitchen window). He sits and 'clicks' nearly all day there, chases all the other hummers off - but if I move inside he's gone like a streak. The lady hummers could care less if we are there - much braver! LOL
Click, Chitter, chitter, click!!!
My feeder was empty. Sorry I haven't posted any photos. I made the mistake of taking over 500 on Sunday. I'm still going through them all. But here are some I have that came out good. Got to tell you that I saw some pretty odd behavior going on around the gh and the feeder on Sunday. Last night while my son was taking his nightly swim, I counted at least 5 hummers overnighting in the gh. Two were perched at the end of the gh on the Bougainvilla. Two were perched on the hanging Bougainvilla basket, pretending they were leaves, and the other was pretending to be a basket from one of the fairy lights. Others seemed to be zooming overhead because the bright lights were on. It was odd, but strangely beautiful too.
