I dont know, just thought we all need to steer ourselves in a new direction. I planted 10 new named daylilies!! Yippee! Transplanted my monster taros too!
what did you plant today?
I was a real bum today! I planted 5 ornamental cabbage, 2 red lobelia, 1 very pretty (pale purple) batchlors button, and 1 big bag of wildflower seed's! It was a very lazy day!!!! sue
I potted up some brugs and night blooming Jasmine that were rooting in water. Also planted the Salmon Brug that I got yesterday from Stormy at my plant swap.. It was funny because Merkat really drew it but was sweet enough to let me take it. We had a lot of laughs at our swap.
oh Azalea, you're going to love that brug!! That was my very first one, and Stormy sure knows how to get them going. It's my biggest and best bloomer. And merkat, if you want one, I'll be taking cuttings when it's through blooming, just let me know!!
I am awaiting my first brugs from a trade. I hope I dont kill them this winter!!
i dug up a gazillion crinums and gave them away.

I planted my rear end in a chair, turned on the stereo and read a book! I watered me with ice tea and fed me junk food so I wouldn't have to cook. And in doing so I grew not just wider but calmer and more peaceful. :}
yesterday i planted beets, carrots, and spinach.

Way to go Zany! I am about ready to hibernate into a good book. Certainly has gotten cool enough to wrap up in a nice cozy banket for a good read. My lettuce seeds wont sprout yet...tried starting them earlilies when it was still warm...maybe sow some more today!
I planted 2 nursery 6 pacs of yellow and purple Lantana. And a single, purple globe amaranth. And a Chilopsis linearis, AKA Desert Willow, in memorial to the people who perished Tues.
Sweet thought Michele...I wish our yard would support another tree or two for a memorial. I certainly will be planting a memorial garden when we move to our acreage.
Zany, you stole mine! LOL I did my usual run, run, run all day long. Then I did some laundry and cleaning, then got dinner ready. Now is the time where I have my butt planted in a chair for a few minutes. Then off to the shower and off to work for a few hours. Yesterday I did make two more tree rings from timbers-after posting pictures of them for someone, I got inspired. Only one more big tree to go! Then I have to plant them. Argh. Wonder who wants to move? LOL
I took cuttings from lemon rose geraniums and potted them up, planted two lantana babies, dug a sweet autumn clematis for a trade, watered houseplants, and pulled pods off my passiflora incarnata to use in germinating some seeds.
Sunday, my DH dug up a huge, gorgeous dark purple New England Aster from an abandoned hayfield and I got it out in the perennial border which is gradually fill with good big wildflowers. Right now, I should go move some astilbe that really doesn't like where it is much at all, but I'm pleasantly occupied...
I planted a big ol' sloppy kiss on Gardenhubby and told him I'm glad to have 'im around. :o)
I planted some cast iron plants that I dug out of my neighbor's yard. Yes, of course I had permission. He told me I could have anything I want in his yard. :) I'm leaving the poison ivy. :)
Im off to plant a Creeping Juniper!
Zany and Kim - sounds like my cup of tea...lol!! I planted grass seed in pots for my babies (cats) today. Friday we planted about 30 shrubs - I think it was Friday! Nellie Stevens Hollies, eleagnus, Chinese hollies and ligustrum - to start the bones of the garden. Sounds boring I know...lol!!
I didn't plant anything new, but I divided several grasses, moved bellflower, plox, delphinium, several hostas, sedum, russian sage, and others that I can't remember at the moment.
I planted 3 new named varieties of phlox, along with some new iris, hostas, 4 new chrysanthemum plants, some apple mint and chocolate mint. Oh and replanted my trumpet vine in a different place. Then came in and got a glass of ice tea and crashed with a trashy book for a few hours. Doris
I planted brug cuttings in the mail to some friends here:) I like that, don't have to water them, feed them, bring them in!!!
I planted Brug cuttings I recieved in trade for some of my ferns. :-) They are all un-named (been trying to think of names for them but will wate till they're growing good to see what kind of personality they have fist....LOL) I guess they where named varietys at one time but the trader lost there names now they're just white, yellow, pink and peach. :-) My first Brugs. :-) I also have some Brug seeds I should plant but have been afraid I'd mess it up. I nead to get a lot of info on them before I try.
Yesterday I planted some more herbs in my "Herb petting planter" I don't cook with fresh herbs as they upset my stomach but I love petting them and smelling them. I also trimmed the rosemarry and pineapple sage and gave the cutting to a friend who loves to cook with fresh herbs, except I kept a couple of the longest, bushiest pinaapple sage cuttings to see if I can get them to root. :-) They smell SOoooooo yummy!! I am currently looking for seeds for other yummy smelling herbs. :-) Take care, Penny
Some fantastic Japanese Coleus for my DH's new office. Oh, they sparkle like tiny gems!

Is it still raining Sis?
hi NewPenny, you want to go ahead and plant those brug seeds while they're fresh. Do they look like little wood chips? If not, then they are datura and you need to wait until spring. (only reason I mention this is because a lot of people will tell you they are brugs when they aren't) there's info in the brug forum:)
