2009 Ruby-throated Hummingbirds Vol 3

have had this one the last 2 days...female or a juvie. I hope eventually to get some better pics...LOL!

I keep checking my Trumpetvine's, when they blooms I'm sure we'll start seeing the hummers again.

Cool story ....this morning I was sitting on the porch feeding the female cat that had kittens under our porch last week. I had on my jammies of course. The bottoms are flannel and have a snowflakes design on them. Some of the flakes are red. This hummer came up to the feeder and then checked out the planter...AND THEN came over trying to eat at the red snowflakes!!! LOL

TO COOL!!! He was just a poking me with that beak!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my hand was right by his wings and feeling the air from them and heariing that whirring...great start to the day!!!

That's a great experience nanny!

Mrs. Ed...when you said embroidered on the bottom I was thinking the rear end bottom!! My imagination was envisioning this...but my brain couldn't understand why! LOL!

I may be able to post some pics soon as I just discovered that a hummer is visiting my feeder. I didn't know until 2 days ago when I was in my shed and saw it out the window.

Got buzzed by a bunch at Mom's yesterday. Tried to convince them to get in the truck and go home with me, but no go!

I've had a regular amount of about 20...males and females. I am starting to watch closely to see if any juvies are starting to get the 5 o'clock shadow but only a few suspects so far. It is so danged hot it almost torture to go outside and get pics when they show up. I put all the screens back on the windows so no more window shots...boo hoo!! Anyway..enuf whining...here is a female from a few days ago.

Our traffic has picked up a whole bunch here! Pics thru the window have not been turning out well and too hot and the mosquitoes here are just vicious with all the rain!! I am having to put on OFF to walk the dog!
