Is there a forum for discussion
of Garden Warchdog topics?

Or, is there a way to go back
intime to look for a report?

Last week early in the week
I read a blistering review
of a vendr who sells on Ebay,
I cannot find it now. All I
remember is that the vendor
was located in Georgia, and
people were really incensed
at the treatment recd by this
vebdor.

Now I cannot find it because
more reviews have been posted since and it has cycled
down on the list of most recent
critiques.

In that particular case, someone
was even suggesting that
dissatisfied customers should
contact the local sheriff in that
county in GA to file complaints.

Well, now there was a post
for montbretia buls on ebay
vendor is in GA, and vendor
has chosen to not post his/her
name.

Red flag!

Can you suggest how to figger
ouit where the review is or
who it was on? It was reported
the vendor had changed their
ebay ID.

I apoiogise if I am on the wrong

Not all Ebay sellers are even listed in Watchdog--since there's a feedback system already in place on Ebay, I don't think vendors who only sell on Ebay are even supposed to be in Watchdog (otherwise they could get "dinged" twice for one bad experience). There are some mail order nurseries that sell on Ebay but also maintain a website that you can order from, so they could be in Watchdog. In order to go back and find a review in Watchdog, you would really need to know what the name of the company was--otherwise you'd have to go through every company in Georgia, and I'm sure there are quite a few!

In the case of a disreputable Ebay vendor who is changing ID's all the time, neither Ebay feedback nor a Watchdog entry would help you much unless you know for sure what their old name used to be and knew for sure that this was the same person. So I'd trust your gut on this one--there are a lot of bad apples out there on Ebay so to me any misleading behavior would be a red flag and I would not buy from that person regardless of whether you can go back and find a Watchdog review or not.

There isn't a discussion forum for the GWD for a couple reasons:

1) Many people would place their reviews in a forum, rather than in the proper context of the Garden Watchdog itself.

2) A forum would inevitably result in vendors wanting to engage in the discussion to defend themselves. Flame wars and self-promotion tend to occur when that happens. (The GWD provides a very structured way for vendors to respond to feedback and avoid those problems)

3) When members disagree over their respective opinions of a vendor, a disagreement can ensue when there's back-and-forth conversation. (Again, the GWD is structured to prohibit back-and-forth conversations between customers.)

When you are considering buying from a vendor, check their feedback in the Watchdog, (or on eBay if they're an eBay-only seller.) That's probably more important to making a good buying decision than trying to seek out a particular review and you aren't sure who the vendor was.
