We came from here http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/991618/ where there were some absolutely wonderful postings. Patty, that baby bird really gives meaning to the word "gape". Fantastic.
I took this shot of a Yellow-billed Spoonbill a few days ago at a major wetland a few km from home.
Daily pics #217

Really nice Spoonbill photos, Margaret.
I really like the Orioles, too, Duc.
Margaret, that second picture is just amazing!! Love it.
Wow what a beautiful Gull! Love all the red.
Beautiful start for the new thread Margaret and super shots of the Spoonbill and Gull.
Love the Orioles Duc!
Burn, your summer birds look like my winter birds! That Purple Finch in the Crabapple tree is lovely
The Dickcissels have claimed the upper hay field and I believe they are nesting. Here is a female.
Great pics everyone!!
Terrific pics. Marg, Nanny, Pelle, Duc, Rose. Thanks for the new thread. I saw a pair of Cardinal follows each other to the feeder quite often. I just witnessed the male fed his mate for the first time. It was oohh sooooo sweet. LOL, he made her dances for him before he fed her though. lol. Here is the charming beau.
Great pics everyone!
Dellrose, Love the Dickcissel!
Nanny, Sweet Eastern Phoebe!
Lily, Nice pic! It is fun to watch the pair together during this time of year.
Jay, Beautiful Hummingbirds!
Dad is still feeding that one.
Love that pic of the bluebirds. Awesome!
WOW such great pictures. Especially the babies. Haven't seen a catbird here yet this season. duc, if you fix a feeder for grape jelly (cheapest available) the orioles will fight over that also. My orioles are fighting now over nest locations.
Keep sending pictures of all your great birds. Thanks Donna
Wonderful pics Frank!
Nice 24 and Frank!! I had a hummer buzzin' me while I was outside working in the yard today. They are nesting right now so not a lot of action at the feeders yet. Last year it was the first week or so of June that it really got busy here finally!
Had this Northern Flicker in the front yard last week.
Great pics everyone. 24gf5, I took a picture very similar to that pic of yours of the hummer from behind with his wings straight out to the side. It may not be the best angle but I thought it was interesting.
I had a Purple Martin show up again today but she didn't stay long...again! Don't know if they'll ever take up residence. :[
