(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

Here ya go ask and ye shall receive LOL

Again THANKS everyone for coming and to everyone that helped in whatever way
I hope all y'all had a good time
Pictures will be coming later tonight on the thread I started for them.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I had a wonderful time, Love's Lookout is really beautiful, and no rain, just a little sprinkle.

The food was amazing, such wonderful dishes, we have many creative cooks.
It was great to see friends old and new, and to receive so many wonderful plants.

There were two little glitches, we tried to follow Lee to David's house and we lost them, then we discovered that I left my camera at the park, so we went back and everyone was gone.
Luckily Phyllis has it, so it is secure, not lost, and as soon as I get it back i will post the pictures.

East Texas is so beautiful, we saw fields of Coreopsis on the way there, more than I have ever seen.
It was a great trip, Thank you Everybody!!!
Josephine.

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

What a wonderful day!!!! Josephine, Sylvia, and all others I hadn't met before, it was such a pleasure to meet you! I am tired, happy, and have a carport full of plants to be put out tomorrow. Everyone that came made the RU special and I appreciate the effort everyone made to drive out and share the day with us. Good food, good people, good times! When's the next one Phyllis? LOL!

p.s. I'm so glad you know where your camera is Josephine, that would worry me to death.

Josephine, I am so sorry you left your camera behind. I am glad that it was rescued by Phyllis. I guess, she will be mailing it to you?

I hate that we weren't more organized when following each other. You really missed an awesome sight at David's homeplace. What a tranquil place to live. I was so impressed by the way he has laid out all of his plants. Of course he is surrounded by woods and so many wonderful shade trees. He has a great view from his back porch with a little stream below. I think if I lived there, I would never want to go to town.

I hope everyone had safe trips home. It was a nice ride for me with just a tiny bit of sprinkling rain just before we arrived home.

I came away with such great memories of wonderful friends and such a pleasant gathering and sharing and helping each other out. I love DG.

I hate that I missed it! My 6 year old grandson is playing T-Ball for the first time and he had told me when he started playing that I would be there for all his games, lol. I am glad I did....he is extremely shy and wouldn't play his first game last week. He played this week though and was so proud of himself. Can't wait to see all the pictures, hear the stories and plan for next year!

I was worn out but had a great time. Thanks to all for the plants I received and hope my things get a special place in your gardens. I know that your gifts to me will. Best thing was seeing some of your again and meeting new friends. This is such a neat group of obsessed folks, makes me feel normal. Wish the DW could have met you and see I'm not the only nut out there.
Frostweed, I am so sorry that you got lost form the trip to my place. I had want time to really meet you and the hubby. Next time you are first in line.
Mibus-just hollor and I will meet you or you can come get some goodies here.
Lovelyiris- enjoyed the visting, the special iris and DLs. All DLs are potted up even your crosses seedlings. You are a hoot and loved your personality.
Willis- Lee and Dee, so glad to meet you and have you over. You must come back and get a good load. Thanks so much for the goodies you gave me. I know you do not think there is a special place for them but they will get their home and will remember you when I see each.
Tabitha- Glad you came over. Now I have another Granddaughter. Always need another one of those.
Charlene- Enjoyed our time together and your visit. We will have to do it again.
Becky- Glad I got to meet your friend and ya'll came over to see my place. Always a treat to see you. Better bring Lyle this way and surprise me soon.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Robert and I had a very good time, even though we were running late because of heavy rain the first two hours of the trip. I do appreciate all the plants that everyone gave me and am looking forward to seeing them bloom in my garden.

It was fun to see people again and meet some new ones, but I am afraid I did not even get to speak to all and I missed giving plants I had brought to a couple. I hate that I wilt completely in heat and humidity. Go figure. It's 57 degrees and windy here this morning. Same thing happened last week-end after a very hot RU in Bryan. By the time I got home that evening, the north wind was blowing hard, and I went inside for a jacket before unloading the van.

Phyllisb59, I still have your address and will be sending a box to you this week. I'll d-mail you when it is actually on the way. I had most of what I was supposed to bring for you, but when I looked for you after the door prizes, I could not find you. Thank you for all you brought me, especially the mints that I asked for at the last minute.

David, your gardens are fabulous, and I came home with lots of ideas. I was delighted to see "my" daylilies already beginning to bloom and looking so happy. I appreciate all the goodies you gave me and am hoping the peacock fern grows to look like yours. You probably made a mistake showing us what you have growing because we all know now what to ask for in the future. Many of your plants I had never seen before. (Put me down for one of those foxgloves!) :>)

Looking forward to the next ETX RU!

Patricia (patrob)

Gilmer, TX

I'm in for a short break from trying to get all my goodies in the ground or pots. Thought I'd stop in and tell everyone what fun I had yesterday, however it was no surprise since we always have a great time when we get together. It was so good to see new faces and catch up with old friends. It just makes we want fall to come sooner so we can all be together again.

Well I betterget back outside before my gardening assistant takes a nap. A really big Thank You and hugs to all who worked so hard to make this happen!!

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

DD, I sure hated to miss seeing your lovely place, but next time we will make sure.
Josephine.

Humble, TX

Thank you everyone for all the lovely plants. It is better than Christmas!

Someone gave me lots of iris in a bag that included 'Quaker Lady'. Let me know who it was so I can say thank you!

DD-I loved getting to come see your place. Your "helping nature" style is a delight to the eyes, and hope my garden looks similar in a few years. I got all the bare root things you gave me in the ground this morning. (YEA!)

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

Thanks to everyone who contributed to making the swap go smoothly - especially Phyllis who did the organizing. I had a great time and came home with way more than I should have - where oh where will it go... Time for more beds, which means fighting the bermuda grass. Now if I could just talk my hubby into getting rid of all of it. :D

I did get lots of beautiful plants that I have been wanting and I thoroughly appreciate all the sharing. I made a detour to wander through Chamblees Roses and to deliver some chicks and then came home and did not last very long before passing out. I fell asleep on the couch at 7:30. :)

"Eyes", the Crinum I got from you, do you know what variety it is? Or even just flower color and height would be perfect. I just need to decide where to put it.

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

I had a marvelous time as well, and it was so grand to see all my old friends and meet new ones, to those I did not meet or get to, please accept my humble apologies....DH was getting too fatigued and I had to get him home, and it's a 4 hour drive. Sorry I missed you AJ, I understand you're a grand fellow....Lee, my hats off to you!! Frostweed, so fantastic to see you again, you simple amaze me girl. Sylvia, thanks for the pots, I love them. Charlene, Ddetx, catlady, Beck, DDMD, Smockette, you all have a special place in my heart. Forgive me, please. Dave and Trish, you never age, I so appreciate all you have done for all of us garden nuts, and I wish you many, many more successes! My hugs are always special to me, as are my special friends...which is pretty much every single one of you. Maggie....your windchime means more than you will ever know, Mibus2 beautiful birdhouses, not to mention all the wonderful plants I knew about from everyone, but also the special surprises. Sweezel dear, don't know the name but it is a pale pink with a darker pink stripe. Hope that helps. I have been in the yard all day planting, transplanting and gettins some things together to share with my DIL. Again, let me share how much I love you all, and all that you have been to me over the past 8 years....yes, it's been that long.

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8b)

What can I say that hasn't already been said?

We all, as usual, had a wonderful time! It is wonderful to talk to old friends, and meet new ones. It always seems like there are people that I didn't get to chat with, or meet this time around. Make sure that you come to the next one :) And it was great to see people that I haven't seen in several years- Sylvia and Josephine.

Thanks to Phyllis for doing such a great job keeping this thing going! Thanks to all who were so generous with their plants. Dave and I look forward to actually having flower gardens again and sharing with all of you!!

We really enjoy getting together with all of you, you are all a great bunch of people, and good gardeners too :)

Willis, TX(Zone 8b)

Our computer had a massive implosion of sorts....due to an electrical storm - about a week & a half before the Roundup....we lost our power supply, motherboard and about 90% of our hard drive....so today,...I'm once again communicating via one of our County Library computers.
Although I had backed up the majority of my files,...we did lose some photos, etc. from the past month or so {yes,...I didn't B/U for about a month......hard to do when I'm traveling so fast :~( ..}

Josephine,....I'm sorry that we had a breakdown in communication....I had conveyed to David that you & Frank were coming as well (as he was leaving)....but he didn't understand that we needed to wait longer.....anyway,....we waited as long as we could...and hated to leave you...but we were losing sight of the caravan and regretfully, we didn't know where David's place was....we knew there was another group that was possibly coming....so decided to hurry to catch up with them....hoping that y'all would connect with anyone else who were coming. I'm very sorry indeed!
We had a great time meeting new friends, sharing good food and conversation....and, of course,...plants!

David - we thoroughly enjoyed your beautiful home & garden - you did say several times....you were blessed,....as we all are!! Thank you again for sharing.....looking forward to visiting again!

Thanks again to everyone who we traded with....such wonderful plants
we received! Lee & Dee

I had a wonderful time even though I was so tired at the end of the day Ruby had to drive me home..lol. Heartfelt thanks to all who made me and Ruby feel so welcome and gifted us with our new babies and garden art.. all Ruby could talk about on the dirve home was how wonderful everyone was, that she was signing up for DG when she got home and that I WAS NOT going to the fall RU with out her! She plans on being to better prepared as do I..lol. I got home and got the truck unloaded and then CRASHED!!!! I finally got home to my computer and wanted to say "Thank You" for letting me participate. It was wonderful, the flowers were beautiful and really, DGers are just special people, and it was a pleasure meeting so many of you.

Very, very special thanks to Dave (DdeTex) for the gracious invitation to tour his gardens. Dave, you are an inspiration to this learning gardener and a very special "Cajun" to this lady.. I doubt I will ever eat file gumbo again without thinking of you and your school boat. Hugs . .

Phyllis, last but not least, thank you for all of your hard work. Hopefully, you are now rested and ready to go again.
