And this is Polish Spirit... I seem to have a thing for blues and purples... :)
A few pics....
The very first one I posted is Durandi, that I know. The others are quite a bit darker than it.
Beautiful Ticker! They really stand out in your fields of green. I agree with Irwells, your possible Cholmondeley is the real Durandii.
Ok, the reason I don't think Cholmondeley is the Durandii, is that it dies back to the ground each year and I've managed to keep it marked since I put it in. The one I think might be Cholmondeley does not die all the way back to the ground . Does Mrs. Cholmondeley die all the way back to the ground each year?
Tomorrow I'll go out and check it out again, but that one (the one I think is Durandii) always dies back to the ground each year...

I almost forgot, your second one looks like The President, a very handsome clem!
That could be the President. :) I know I had one of those at some point. ;) LOL
Man, I hear what you're saying about Durandii. I'll go out and look again tomorrow (when it's not raining) and check again. You guys really do have me wondering if what I think is Durandii isn't and visa versa... :) The one you all are naming as Durandii certainly looks more like it than the one I think it is... And you are beginning to convince me. However, now that begs the question, who is the one I think is Durandii if it's not Durandii? LOL I will go out tomorrow and look closer at them. Thanks guys, this is why I like DG, people are always so helpful. :)

Hi Ticker
I know your first one can't be durandi...do you have maybe HF young or Ramona? That one is what it reminds me of but I am no professional on that for sure...
The second photo certainly looks like The President and very pretty btw...good job! She looks like she is loving where she is!
I think your third pic could be durandi but I don't have one of those so I don't know....but that is what it looks like to me.
Great job! Wooohoooo nice clematises!!!
Venu thanks so much for the compliments!!! I love to be a Northern grower and have others know it is so easy to grow clematis here!!!
Does anyone know if people from the states can send plants to Canada...not nursery wise but between friends?? Not sure how it works?
Those have been there for at least 10 years or better and the tags are long since gone (except) for the one I thought was Durandii.... LOL I'm doing better at keeping my Clematis tagged now better than I use to.
You are doing awesome...did you finally decide on what your clematis identities are?
They are all huge blooms except for Polish Spirit... Nice rock tag. :) My luck a grand niece or nephew would chuck it at one another. :) LOL
Hhehehe yes stones rock I guess as long as you don't have kids or grandkids moving them around.....
pretty venu. i know you have identified durandii. i think you have a president in there too. need to see other photo to determine if the other one is mrs chummied, all pretty venu, ticker. nice photos on this thread.
Louise: The pictures of your Clematis are positively gorgeous!
Thank you Shirley, but remember it was your pics that lit the Clem fire under my behind :)
Shirley does make it habit forming. I agree with Louise!
love your trellising holly ann and nice looking plants too. are you new to the forum? if so, hope you stay on a while. your plants look very healthy, again love the trellising.
Yeah, those trellises are very nice as are your clematis. Where did you get the trellises? :)
Very nice Holly. Is Ramona more blue than The President? I like the red anthers with the blues. Very nice plantings at their feet also!
ramona is much more lavender than the president or multi blue.
Consort is lovely. Somehow anything that implies English origination always sounds good. You have proof of the beauty!
Your Niobe could teach mine a thing or two. Mine won't go near the rose.
Your Venosa is the nicest one of all photos of it that I've seen. Now maybe it will inspire me enough to plant mine that has been waiting for a home for 15 months along with a few others.
Beautiful pics everyone. I'm knew to the clematis obsession, so I'm still learning. Here's one that I've had for about 10 years. I have no idea what it is - does anyone know? I've never pruned it - basically I ignore it completely and it doesn't appear to mind that. Perhaps that helps with the ID to know that it doesn't need pruning?
It reminds me of my Candida Lanuginosa.

songsof joy, when did it bloom? if it bloomed out already i believe it could be guernsey cream. if it is blooming now , candida lanuginosa is a good guess.
either way , nice white clem.
Songs, I think you and Pirl both have Candida. Guernsey has a lot more green than your picture is showing. I don't have Candida but after seeing yours and Pirl's photos I might have to get that one. Both are beautiful !!
Thanks Pirl, CG and Venu! It is blooming now (pics were taken today) and it does look a lot like Pirl's Candida so that's what I'm going to call it! What pruning category is that in?
For me it's "when I get around to it, I prune it". Some years I do and other years I don't and it blooms anyhow.
Ah Pirl, your pruning style is so similar to mine, it's uncanny. An early bloomer gets cut in half when done with first bloom. Everything else is when the mood strikes me. My virginiana has been pruned 4 times this year already.
By the way, if anyone has a fence or structure they would like to hide very quickly with a vigorous vine just d-mail me. I have the baby to do it. As fair warning, you might want to have a machete in your gardening tool arsenal :)
Will it hide my neighbors and their children too?
