Lynn
All the pictures are beautiful... I still kill most of my Av's... Lynn I love your strep and that is one on my list to get....
Hugs,
Susan
Wow, all are beauties but that one called Bergen's Precious is amazing! Love it. I really, really love any with variegated foliage too ... Inposter and New Year's Eve are gorgeous!
Ibrabec: That strep is really pretty! Great growing!
Phoebe: Wow! Great macro shots on both those AV's! What's the name on the first one? I really like that bloom!
Hey Ya TurtleChi ... how are you? I haven't had any AV's in awhile now, since I lost them all to mites or something over a year ago ... well, I think there might be a half dead one or two around here someplace, LOL. And, forget Strep's ... they don't like me at all. I have good luck with Chirita's (just need to repot them, a couple still have tons of roots growing out the bottom of the pots! I have a couple of Episcia's that have re-sprouted that I thought were totally dead! Hoping to get some blooms soon!
Phoebe: Fuzziness? My goodness, your photo's look awesome! Great clarity and color!
Now, that photo is worthy of blowing up and framing! I love pink and that bloom is lovely!
Phoebe--Can't remember what took BIS LOLOLOL
I went to 6 shows in 2 months... I can't remember all the details! :-D
Best
In
Show
And I haven't been to any shows!
I know what "BIS" means, I meant I can't remember what plant took Best in Show at that particular show :-D
Jan,I just love your violets (and your pictures). If I ever get a good collection going, maybe we can trade.Yes,that's a brand new Strep.I've only had it about a week.It still has lots more buds.Lin,I can't take credit, because I haven't actually grown it yet LOL.
Susan,I'll save you a leaf! I have some other new ones that are small yet.
Lynn
M3--Oh--I misread it(nothing new there! LOL)
Thanks Lynn! My collection is fairly young for reasons too boring to go into, So I'm not ready to do a lot of trading yet--but I'm working on it!
I think Lyon's Pirate Treasure just made my Want list! Great pix, M3rma1d! What did you do to cut out the background in the pix? Did you white out pixel by pixel? If so, that's alot of work!
Susan - at the end of the other thread you mentioned you have strep babies now. Congrats! What was the way GL told you to do them?
Great pictures, mermaid!!! Phoebe, too! Thanks for sharing.
Syrumani,
GL told me to do the same thing...........and it works.............I will let her explain..........why I have 17 plastic shoeboxes from Walmart filled with stuck Strep leaves...........and covered with press n seal. I started out with saran wrap but now they are ready for a little air..........
I didn't pick a box that the leaves look so hot, but they are fine..........
You know, now that you mention it, I think it may have been mentioned in a thread. I'll go see if I can find it.
Wow, Gail ... you have a full nursery there gal, does that mean that the Marketplace is going to be busy in a couple of months?!
That bloom on Weismoore is very pretty and I love the AV Sweet Suzanne!
My passion for propagating is borderline obsession now, Lin!!! I couldn't take a picture of the hoya foliage because the winds are whipping around preparing for the rain..........(hopefully).
I repotted every single strep I have this past week.........and trimmed the leaves hoping to promote more foliage in the centers.....I took off blooms so the energy wouldn't go into blooms right now..........so,,as soon as they start to bloom again I must get rid of many many streps.
If I have time this evening I will take some pictures of how there isn't a space anywhere to plant up babies..........The office is already full of baby streps...........already potted up.
Ya know ... if I could grow just one Strep and keep it alive I think it would be so cool to have one with humongous leaves like that! Iced Wine is very pretty!
Hi,
Went out and now I am home as my MIL had a panic attact... So sister and BIL are coming here to play cards... The way Leaf told me to plant was use a sweater box and fill half with my mix... I did use lava rocks on bottom and also perlite and then added my mix.. I put holes in the bottom and watered once and left alone which is hard for me...LOL I have watered I think 3 times now since I put the box down with saran wrap on top... I have babies coming up... these were just leaves I had cut to play with so will have allot to send to people.. I have a few and I do mean a few named ones in there and also two or three leaves I used before but when I took them out and potted up the babies from these they were still good leaves so I put them back in with these and low and behold I have more babies from the same leaf...
I have really been in a funk and not taking care of my plants as well as I should but this will get better :-) I have allot of babies to pot up ... I hate that part...LOL
Lin, The next 3 pictures are for you.... One of the baby mouse which are going into the woods on Monday since most are eating and I found out they mate at 4 week or so... :-( Not in my house.... The other is a new born turtle we found today in the yard and a garter snake.....
I hope to get my butt in gear and post some strep pictures this week... but can't say for sure how my moods are going to be...
Hugs to all,
Susan
