Garden Pics: April shows brought these May flowers #5!!!

(Judi)Portland, OR

The white flowering shrub next to the hostas is Deutzia. It's one of my favorite shrubs.

Geeezz Trisha - glad you were not hurt in that uproar!

This is a beautiful Iris. When I was shooting the pic tonight I noticed a face. Can you see it? Look at the bottom two flowers. LOL!

RJ....what a story!! Glad there wasn't more damage. That rhody is beautiful!!! I can see why you wanted to save it.

Great pictures everyone!! Love the face in the flower Bea!! No time for pictures today, I did get some planting done.

The face is great Bea!

Trisha.... cute little spider.

Willow, Sounds like you had a busy day. Doesn't it give you a great sense of satisfaction when you have a bed cleaned up and looking good?

Trisha, Pretty iris! I love the pic of the clem too, but the rhodie one is really cool!

Bea, The face in the iris is awesome! I am still drooling over that particular iris, face or no face. I also absolutely love the pink columbine with the tails so long it almost looks like it's in motion!

Redchic, I was born to two people who's sense of fun and adventure has lead to many stories (both good and bad) over the years. It seems like "drama" of one sort or another always followed us. To make sure that didn't end when I moved out on my own, I married a man with the same sense of fun and adventure...who is also apparently a "drama" magnet in his own right. Life is always very interesting...... This is what is left of my hemlock from the previous story, pic is taken from the same spot that I was standing when it broke. For perspective, the base is far too big for me to put my arms around.

I stole Mom's camera to take these pics the other day, and had to wait until I came up for coffee this weekend to be able to post them. Using her "sunset" mode, I was able to capture the color of Lem's Cameo as I see it with my eyes on a shady morning. It just GLOWS!

Lems' is lovely RJ! I guess that you neve have to worry about being to bored with that sort of sense of adventure. That can definitely be a good thing! although, I think if possible, you might consider having someone come out and fall what's left of that tree so that it doesn't even have the chance to come down on you or your garden!!

Eugene, OR

That's what I was thinking too, rc!! You don't need that kind of drama, Julie. LOL

That rhody is awesome, what a pretty picture it makes next to the JM.

The first dahlias I've ever had actually bloom - they're in a pot, and don't stay wet, which may be why I was finally successful
