MiCasa,SuCasa..break time..party down

Seems to me we all could use a break...come to Mi Casa and let loose. The screened porch is open as is the back patio. Grill is fired up....birds are in full force...hummers to beat the band. I have potato salad,mac salad and in southern style chicken n dumplings and collards. Don't mind the dogs...Rhodie and Maya will lick you to death....Payne is a tad shy...he likes the ladies. Beer,wine,soda and water(botteled)are all in the cooler...lets come together and reflect on the weeks events,comfert one another and in general enjoy all that is life and hope. Welcome

Hi Ginger! I'm on my way over with a warm peach-blueberry cobbler and a Napa Valley cabernet. Now if you'd ever be willing to share your southern style chicken 'n dumplings with me, I'd be much obliged. Hope those dogs don't mind that I'm covered with kitty fur.

Yummy....share my chicken 'n dumplings??? Rut rho...I cook by the seat of my pants..never do the same thing twice!! I do howerer bone the chicken. LOL How do you make cobbler?? as in driving I turn the key and it works or not..Mz.whats on hand here...my mantra "over younder" at the bird watching forum.."The computer is my friend". RIGHT...maybe someday!!!

Well if we are gonna party I'll bring the band! One of my grandsons just turned 1 yr and got a drumset complete with cymbals....LOL he is truly marching to a different beat. Don't usually drink anything but ice tea but this week could be convinced to switch from Liptons to Long Island!

I'll bring my guitar. I may not be able to play for long because it's been years and my callouses are gone! And we'll pack a tasty 7-layer salad for all to enjoy, too! :o)

Thanks for the invite! Got a tarp for the rain and some of summer's last late peaches right off the trees. I'll have DD put together a fruit basket and we'll be right on over ;-)

How does an English apple pie sound and some sausage rolls? I'll make the pastry myself, I promise :-) - do we need to bring raincoats?

No rain here today. Sounds like a very tasty party to me. Bring a camera...the hummers have been out in force. Maybe a biscuit or two for the 4-legged family...feel free to bring your dog as well...got a large area fenced where they can play too.

okay, I've got the doggie biscuits here, I brought a banana nut bread, my granny's recipe! Thanks so much for having us, is there root beer in that cooler?? I'm going to grab this lounge chair and watch for a while, it was a long drive!!!

Oh my did I hear apple pie. You can't have apple pie without the ice cream. I will bring enough for all. I will even bring some root beer for tiG so she can have a float.

I'm on my way! Better late than never, right?!?! I'm bringing the hourdourves, or however you spell it! I have my arms full of stuffed jalapeno peppers and quesadillas. Yeah, I'm from the north, but I eat like I'm in the far far south! LOL Wishful thinking I guess.

Pass the sausage and the chicken n dumplings before it's gone. This has to be the best apple pie I have ever had. I am so glad you had us all over Ginger, after this week we really needed this.

Well...I hate to be a party pooper...but Im going to bed now. Chico my chihuahua is ready too...Molly my schipperke is wet...so she cannot get in my bed...not tonight anyway. Dont worry...Jet the Aussie, Maddie the lab/hound mix, and Shiloh the Chihuahua/terrier mix will be quite fine sleeping outdoors...they are nice and quiet dogs. Except when fire engines and sirens are about...they howl with the best of 'em.

You know, besides the company, the great thing about this party is - it isn't adding any inches to my thighs! I think I'll have a second helping of that apple pie and ice cream!

gardenwife....loved the picture....lol...your dog looks quite able to take care of herself! Guess the poor thing was just outnumbered...hehe. I have two large dogs...and 3 munchkins...lol...except the chihuahua pup I dont let run loose with the rest of the pack...Maddie is jealous of him...afraid of what she might do with "mama" gone.

What a great party!!! So happy ya'll could come. The eats are wonderful and isn't it great how well all the dogs are getting along!?!? Since it's another beautiful day here we might as well keep on partying..freezer is well stocked so we shouldn't run out of food...lots of drinks as well. Hey...how about we set up the horseshoes and maybe bocce ball too. I've been wanting DH to do this and now he has help no excuse not to. LOL Sure is nice to relax and unwind with friends for awhile.

Shhhhhh....Don't tell anyone, but I know where we can get some outlawed lawn darts. ;o)

Can we all stay here? It is such I nice break from everything going on. No ones being mean or getting angry, were all just enjoying the time together. PLEASE Ginger let stay for awhile.

oh, no!! Now I see why Ginger wanted us to stay that extra day. Did you see where she has that new bed drawn out?? It's huge, and she's got a whole truckload of plants to put in it. Well, not much I like better, so I'm getting my gardening shoes out of the truck. be right back!!

Ya'll can stay right here and party as long as you want...most I've smiled all week. Kinda figured we needed a break. Anyone got a croquete(SP?) set?? haven't played it in years. Just dragged the Bose out to the screen room so we can all enjoy the music..bring a favorite CD...right now DH is playing Springsteen...I got next dibs with Reggae...after that,what next??

Hello Ginger, lamb racks for you, all ready to go when you are ready - the oven needs to be really hot. Then a platter of baked potatoes, and this big bowl of salad - last of the winter lettuce in there...

And for afters, I found this big punnet of spring strawberries - for people who have been good enough to let go of their summer so the Crone can have some warmth with her sun...

And to swish it all down easily? Pass the riesling...

Oh goodness, am I too late to get any of that ice cream? I brought some homemade brownies (pretty good if I do say so myself), and some melt-in-your-mouth bbq brisket if anybody still has room for more food :) I may have to mooch a beverage off somebody else, I knew there was something I forgot in my hurry to get over here.

Oh, I did toss in a few CDs - does anybody else like Lynard Skynard? (Yeah, I know they're dead, but they're still the definition of southern rock to me.....)

And uh, meet Duke and Daisy, my yellow lab mutts who are extremely laid back porch hounds when they're not licking you to death.

Ahhhh, to sit down and feel the cool breeze of evening and kick back with some old and new friends. Sounds pretty nice!
