Another view.
DAILY PICS VOL. 213
Congrats Jane, on the Phoebe babies. Red! The Western Kingbird isn't terribly showy but a subtle beauty about it! Love those pics.
Jane, your phoebe pics are great. The four in the first one look pretty grumpy about having to go out and start working for their own food!
Red, I have western kingbirds at my EWA vacation house and love to watch them. The babies are typically agressive bird babies when they first leave the nest.
Another drab, rainy day here. Working on the wife's M-day present. A make-over of the kitchen island and a built-in wine rack. I hired a trim carpenter for the construction, I'm doing the painting.
A view of the front feeder. 5 different Orioles and a new female Indigo today.
Later. I gotta get back to my painting. ...RDR
I would guess that titmice are nesting somewhere in the area. they are noisy enough about it.
They really had a discussion, didn't they.
One Serious discussion I may add. lol.
Yes Spring has finally arrived, daffodils starting to bloom, leaves are coming out on the trees, grass is getting green, can't get any better then this.
Those chickadees babies are growing fast. So nice to see.
Love those shots of the Phoebe on the curtain rod, Jane.
American Robin enjoying a drink in the waterfall.
Wow, Sharon, fantastic pictures!
Hello to everyone! It looks like this fellow has decided that he's going to become a permanent fixture on our upper deck. I realize that this isn't a good photo, but could someone please tell me what kind of Hawk this is? He doesn't seem to be at all interested in the birds, although (of course) none of them know that. LOL
A hawk that shows up where you have congregated birds is probably interested in them. Can't see him well enough to say for sure, but looks like a Sharp-shinned hawk. Bird killers extraordinaire!
Oh, I was hoping it was one that was more interested in small mammals. We have so many moles in our yard, that I would (in that case) welcome him. BTW, I got within six feet of him a little while ago before he 'flew the coop' so he's a baby.
Nice shot and variety everyone.
Nanny sorry about the BB babies I was looking forward to seeing pictures...you have some memories though. Have you considered putting up a BB house? You'd be a better guardian.
Burn do you make your own suet cakes?; looks like peanut butter and black oiled sunflower seeds (pic with chicadee). I have not seen any like that.
Take care everyone
WC2, what's a clear tele lense! I need those lenses! I'd gladly take Blue Jay too. lol.
lol!
Hi wbbirdwoman,
I don't think the hawk is an Accipiter (sharpie or coopers). It looks like a young redtail to me. He should enjoy the mice and squirrels your feeder attracts.

Ditto to Jec6 on the hawk, Red-tailed for me too.

Wonderful pic of the Mockingbird baby GP
Meth I do make my own suet, peanutbutter and cheapest shortening, add a lot of mixed seeds, and oatmeal and flour. Will sometime add raisin.
That Pileated is there to stay for the summer, Nanny. You must have some scrumptious suet there.
Love to see all the babies.
many White-crowned Sparrow, this year.
