Osmocote

I'm sure that pretty much everyone here knows who Osmocote is, but for the few who don't, they are a fertilizer company that makes a well known and well respected slow release fertilizer.

Osmocote has recently launched a new product called Osmocote PotShots and they've asked us to spread the word about their new product. They correctly knew that we were the best place to get the word out. :)

So, there are a few banner ads running (you won't see them if your ads are turned off) and I'm writing this post to let you know about it, AND more importantly, to let you know about a cool contest they are running.

First, here is what they say about the product:

Quoting:
You can use Osmocote PotShots "Plant Food Nuggets" to get beautiful plants without the stress or mess. It's the ideal way to conveniently feed hanging baskets, tubs, pots, window boxes, or any plant in a container. Learn more about Osmocote's newest product, PotShots Plant Food Nuggets, and all the other great Osmocote products at http://www.osmocote.com

Now, along with their new product launch, Osmocote is sponsoring an online
sweepstakes featuring a grand prize trip for two to Washington D.C. with
visits to the National Garden and the U.S. Botanic Garden.

Additionally, each day they will be awarding a $100 Smith & Hawken gift card and you can enter the contest every day until June 30, 2009. The more days you enter, the more chances to win! There is a good chance that many of all of the winners may be DG members. ^_^

1) One time only, you have to register for the chance to win the grand prize and to play daily for a chance to win a $100 Smith & Hawken gift card.

2) Once registered, just go back each day to try again for another win. To play the trivia game all you need to do is click on the link below and enter the email address you registered with and you will then be directed to the PotShots Garden trivia game.

3) There will be a new winner every day and playing the daily trivia game increases your chances of winning the grand prize trip for two to D.C to visit the National Garden and the U.S. Botanic Garden.

So, here is the link: http://davesgarden.com/special/nl/go/4/

Have fun! If anybody wins, it'd be great if they posted to this thread to let us know.

Woo Hoo ... love those contests and sweepstakes! I do use the Osmocote slow release pellet stuff on occasion too and it works well!

Ok, going to register now! Thanks Dave!

North Augusta, ON

Great offer!!

I really need to get me a US address...

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

You know, Dave, I keep registering, and typing the sort of hidden letters at the bottom, then hitting submit, and it keeps kicking it back to me, again, again, again. And I type those different hidden letters every time, over and over.

It just never lets me get beyond the submit button.

Hmmmmmm......whattya think?

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

OK, got through it via Firefox, but not through Safari. So maybe that's the trick. Anyway, registered now, and thanks.

No. San Diego Co., CA(Zone 10b)

Sharon, you probably have some kind of Java Script filter on Safari. Java must be enabled for the site to work, apparently, as I got a message when I went there. (I enable Java only for those sites I trust.) HTH in the future.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Thanks, KC, maybe so.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Everybody still playing everyday?

Yesterday I got one wrong, but I don't know which one! I wish they would tell you.

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

Oh, thanks for reminding me to play daily, just did again and got all 3 right. Interesting that they'll be different questions each time.

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

How cool! Just now found this thread. I'll be sure to check out the new Osmocote product, I use it for my bedding plants and roses I sell. Customers of mine love it, too!

Thanks, dave!

I have not been able to enter for the last 3 days.
For the last few days the page is telling me to "check back soon"
And, "Sorry the promotion is undergoing a short maintenance period"

Is anyone else getting this?

I wonder if DG overloaded their system. LOL ^_^

I don't think there will ever be anything in those 3 pots!

I've thought the same thing!!

Issaquah, WA(Zone 7a)

Ditto here. I've employed my best nugget location strategies and nothing.

This a.m. I got really clever and clicked "if you cant see the game, click here" thinking surely that was the route to success. But no, it just bypassed the entire find-the-nugget- game :( So don't do that.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

It's only kicked me out once, but I don't think there is a thing but dirt in those pots.

Ripon, WI(Zone 4a)

I haven't found anything but dirt in the pots either.

Jasper Co., MO(Zone 6b)

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

DId anyone ever find anything in those pots?

(Zone 1)

I don't have much patience and gave up long ago!

I admit I gave up long ago, too. I was really hoping some DGers would wind up being winners...

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

I love Osmocote! We got it on a recommendation for our Queen palms, and it ends up that everything we have loves it!
