Here's one that is really, really awful. Would have been good b/c you could see all of him.

Well, I thought about sending this pix to the I.D. forum, but they may chase me out of there. Whereas, here, I'm among friends, right? So please help me with the I.D. please. I assumed the red and the blue bird are a given. The cardinal and the eastern blue ofcourse, how about the other two canaries? Please help I.D. LOL.

It is a Yellow Bird!! LOL!

right. Those stinkers are teases. They land long enough for you to see that they are not a goldfinch and then they just flit around.
grrr.

I can understand the frustration, especially when one can only capture the 'bum's pix' lol.

Ohhhhh...I hate those shots...or what I get most the 'eye peeking thru the leaves' shot! LOL

Here is a dumb and bad shot! I tried to shoot through the window tonight using flash...didn't think it would work and it didn't! LOL!

As if that wasn't dumb enough...I decided to turn on the porch light and not use a flash...!! Don't try this at home...LOL!

last year I was able to take pix with flash, through the window, but only at an angle. Might have been that I have newish windows though that are flash forgiving.

Took a look out of the window and there was a Blue Jay, a Cardinal, and an Evening Grosbeak all feeding together. Ran for the camera and snapped just in time to catch the Cardinal making his exit.

a shame i couldn't get the camera focused for this

This is what happens when you forget to check the settings on your camera from the day before. ISO way too high.
