Ahhh, I just love those guys. Just capturing their profiles made my day. lol. I've been watching this nuthatch searching for peanuts. Yep, peanuts. I wished I could capture one with him/her carrying the nut off victoriously.

Oooops, wrong picture, looks like some young fledging crash landing nearby the feeder though.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Okay, the nuthatch, White -breasted Nuthatch. :-)

That's a fine one Lily. :-)

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

The nuthatch is cute Lily. Way too cute for this thread!

Here is a real loser. My first ever Canada Warbler. At least, that's what I think it was. It was only two feet outside the window. It was in deep shade and the window is filthy, but shoot I'm disappointed. Of course, I scared him away. While I was downloading the pics, a female showed up. Then the male flew into my dirty window! I guess it's not dirty enough. lol! Maybe he was eating spiders on the window. I got a good belly view, very bright yellow with black barring on the neck.

Very cool Elphaba!

Yep, Canada Warbler

Well at least you got a new bird out it...Congrats!!!

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

Thanks! It is fun to add a new marker to my book! Now, however, I'm waiting by the window hoping they'll come back when I should be outside working before it rains tomorrow. I'm such a slave to the whims of these birds and my crazy desire to take pictures of them!

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Hey if it's a new bird, and it's "good enough to ID", then it is a great pic!

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Ditto Mrs_Ed. I love that idea. New birds are so very welcome here too. I love that C. warbler. :-0)

Renton, WA

This robin has been around for most of the spring-
ran and got camera, didn't set it and shot --
bad bad pic
but the bird has almost an all white head and some shoulder and body,

someday I'll get the pic.

Not exactly 'awful', but the sun was toward his back taking away much of the detail. Not the type of shot I'd keep.

not bad at all... i like it

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

I like it too!

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

me three, lol. I love it the way its feather is all fluffed up.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Hmmm... ok, I'll keep it, (took it today - he was watching me mow the lawn),
Maybe I'm being too critical, thanks for your opinions! ☺

(I've got to stop reading those photography books! lol)

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

I was so excited and couldn't steady myself when I found several of my Pheobes babies had successfully fledged. So the pix is really 'awful'!!! But I'm so happy!

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

Well, that pic is just awful, but congrats!!!

I'd be happy just to see my awful pics right now. I can't download any pics from my camera and was told by the people at Kodak that I have a "legacy" product, meaning old. I think it might be three years old, soooo old that they don't support it any more and can't help me fix the problem. You can imagine how annoyed I am.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Elphaba, I'm so sorry to hear you're having some difficulty with your camera. I hope it can be resolved soon. Oooh yes, I spotted the fledgings today again. No awful pix though, maybe this evening. lol.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Quoting:
Becareful what you asked for ...
^_^ I was asking/hoping that I'd see these little ones again, guess what? Pix still is aweful, I feared:

Aww very cute!

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Elph, if you have a SD card in there, then you can just buy a card reader to download your pix. Do you still have the Kodak Z740 Zoom? I see that you can use an SD card in that one.

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

OMG Lily! They are soooo cute! That picture is way better and I love how they are all just peas in a pod.

Mrs. Ed, I started to ask you what an SD card was, but then I realized what you were talking about! Yes, I do have one! Thanks so much for that info. Now, I know that there's hope. I edited to take out a whole thing about downloading firmware. It requires a step that I know isn't working. I guess I'm off to get a card reader!

This is what happens when you have the camera on the wrong setting among other things. Red-tailed Hawk

#3 They were much worse than this but no amount of editing would fix them.

Well...I would be pretty happy if I could a photo of a Red-tailed like that!! Isn't it funny what each of us defines as "Bad"!!

Wilmar, AR(Zone 8a)

I finally got a shot of a Prothonotary Warbler! But...it's not very good so I published it here. I was still excited to finally see one!

Pelle, I'd be estastic to get a hawk picture like yours! Your P warbler is way too cute CBL51.

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

Hey Crazy, that's a better pic of a Prothonotary Warbler than the only shot that I've ever gotten of one! It's such a cool bird. I hope I see one again someday.

Pelle, I love the light through the wings. I'd be happy with that shot too, but I'd love to see what you could have done with everything just right.

Finally, thanks to my hero Mrs. Ed, I downloaded my pics of the only male Orchard Oriole that I've seen. They're pretty awful. I feel like posting a couple on the daily thread anyway! I'll put up one here while I think about it. One day, I want to get a pic of a pretty bird in some pretty flowers.

That Orchard Oriole is too good for here!
