Congrats to both pelle & Mrs. Ed!!!!!!

Glad you found your oriole Rose! LOL

We have been watching them all day...not sure how many there are but it seems to be several. I have seen at least 3 different males that I am sure of!

While I was trying to get oriole pics in the dark first thing this morning with my eyes barely open, I caught these Blue Jays. Is'nt that soooo sweet!

Okay I FINALLY got a pic of Mrs Rose-breasted Grosbeak. Wow it was a test of wills but after sitting in the back of the apple tree for 30 minutes she finally came down to the feeder and at least part way to the front of the tree.

Yes Pelle. I think that girl is beautiful!

Thanks Resin. I'll do that. Maybe I'll get a better picture though.

this one is blurry but shows the chest streaks well. this bird would NOT stay still. Always on the move and with today's overcast it was difficult to get a decent pix.

Here are my first babies of 2009. Every year a Say's Phoebe builds her nest on my front porch. A few days ago, I noticed mama wasn't on her nest. She must have been out out collecting bugs for her babies. Today was the first day I actually saw the babies. Their eyes are still closed; but their mouths opened wide when they heard the chirping sound of my camera's autofocus indicater.

Columbia City, IN(Zone 5b)

sweet babie, cant wait till our birds start nesting, any time now, darn fox squirrel had babies in 1of the bird houses. Margaret, how are the osprey doing ??

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Aw Jane, that's cute. They are all beak!

I'm on the lookout for warblers too, Burn. I read that the Ovenbird often travels with them. I love this time of year when the migrants come through. Friday I had about 8 White-throated sparrows show up. Today who knows, it's very stormy in this region.

Clinton, MD(Zone 7a)

Lithicum, I purchased the Canon 400 f5.6 lens. I was a bit slow on the purchase because it does not have IS; but kept seeing great shots from this lens on the Canon and Fred Miranda forum, so I pulled the trigger and have not regret one moment. The shots I posted on this thread were all hand held except for a couple of the Juncos. As long as the light is good and the shutter speed, at least for me anyway, is 400 and up I am ok, even though I have gotten a few shots at 1/60 hand held with some support.

Mrs. Ed congrats and I like the new bird. I've heard of them but have never seen one. Kind of looks like the Hermit Thrush. I had the same experience when I got my first and only shots of the Brown Thrasher; chased around a bush for about 20 minutes before getting the shots
