PF tiny change

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Every time I go to add a rose to PlantFiles I have to scroll down so I can click on Roses. I know it sounds petty but when you add lots of roses, it is an extra movement over and over again.

I was wondering if you ever have a free minute and so bored if you can move the bottom half of both columns over to make 4 columns so all are seen without scrolling down. Just makes it a tad more user friendly.

Thanks Dave for considering it.

So you click on Roses from that list, then find it in the alphabetical list? I tried that before, took too long to find.

I click the green bar 'Click Here To Search For Plants' and then I enter 'Rose' for the common name and then the cultivar name. Once I am done adding an image, I use the drop down menu for my go back to go back to that page thereby skipping several pages back and then I just change the cultivar name. Click, rinse and repeat. For roses, I usually have HMF open to search there first and confirm the rose is correct and I copy the name form there and paste into the cultivar name, making sure not to add any space before the name when pasting..

(Sometimes the word 'Rose' wasn't entered for the common name when the entry was originally made and you won't get a hit. Usually something like 'Large climber' was used. I have admin correct those but to really avoid that I just use 'Rosa' in the Genus section.)

LOL Sue, I have never noticed that green bar 'Click Here To Search For Plants" though I only go to that page when I am doing roses. I originally got to that page thru Search and Browse Tools then to Specific Search. Though now I made a short cut link on my toolbar that takes me directly there. I actually have a direct link to the rose by alphabet page too but I have so many shortcuts to different web pages I use more now on my personal toolbar that the rose one is hiding and I have to click a few times to get it in front.

Searching anything by cultivar name is a mixed bag for me if it works or not. The alphabet page is a sure thing.

Pretty bad when you are so lazy to do a few clicks but I tell you my clicking finger gets tired. LOL

Funny how we get used to doing things a certain way.
When I am not sure of spelling, I just Google it and always get the correct spelling.

We're planning to add a few more groups to the browse-by list. That might shift roses up and/or it might create a third or fourth column (I'm not sure exactly how it'll play out until we finish everything ;o)

That would be great, Terry. Thanks

Sue, you are up and about early. How hot is it going to get your way? The heat made me sick yesterday, I was working too hard in the yard. Maybe today I will stay inside in the AC. I had hoped to go somewhare fun today but I can't think of any place cool.

Hey, maybe the SF zoo!

We hit 95-96° yesterday, about the same today, yuk! Looking forward to the 30° drop by the weekend with that chance of showers.
SF might be the the same today, forecast for 93° so it looks like escaping to the coast isn't the answer either.

Gosh, I could clean house. LOL!
