Hey thanks!!! :)
Pileated Woodpecker popped in this morning...I heard it coming so had time to grab the camera.
Just wish it would come when the light is better on this tree! LOL

DAILY PICS VOL. 206
So many great shots here...
Yes, Marna, she has accepted the slot box. Maybe her decision was easier because I took down all the other boxes.
I was sure she would build in the the slot box, but I had no idea she would move so quickly. She started building less than 24 hours after I removed her other nest. As of last night her nest looks nearly finished and this morning she was bringing smaller loads of grass. I don't know what she is doing right now since I'm up in Baltimore, but it would not surprise me if she started laying by this weekend.
My nest cam is still on the fritz so I ordered a new one.
Dave
That's great that they give you warning Nanny.
Cool Dave. I still have no idea if the chickadees are going to nest or not, they are just in and out and in and out!
Al, forgot to say how nice your pix are. Love your copyright!
Great pics everyone!
Dave, So glad they took right away to the slot box.
Lily, Such a cute pic of your House Finch pair!
Love your big old Crow Marna!
Nanny, Love the Pileated!
Mrs Ed, that's no way to refer to Nanny.
What? Big old Crow? LOL.
Don't get me in trouble, you nutty Aussie! ;-)
Oh Pelle, your Robins have chosen a similiar spot as my Phoebes for setting up a nest. lol. Mine is over the garage door, so every time we open the garage the vibration gotta be deafening! DH disconnect the flood light's power while they're making home there. :-) It has been since last month when the nest got started, so who knows? It could be a second brook on the way. I still see activities going on from up high, but unable to get pix of them (chicks).
The finches took a liking to the suet feeder from time to time.
What did I miss Mrs_Ed? LOL, for the account of the pix above, I know I missed focus. Sorry folks.
See, there you go again!! LOL
That is darling!!
Dave - What is a "slot box"??
Birdie here is a pic of one.
http://www.thebirdhousechick.com/product/LK-SLOTBB-BH
Wow!!...no wonder mine keep comong back...the opening is about twice that big, so it does look like a "cavity"
Sure looks easiee to build than the one with the hold too!!
thanks Pelle--I had not seen one like that before!
Yep, Birdie, that's pretty much what it looks like.
Here is a picture of one of mine. I am going to try it just this once, and hopefully get a picture of two or more nestlings, side by side, peeking out on fledge day.
Sorry I didn't respond sooner but I was on the road and just got home.
The slot is only 1 3/16 inches high.

love that wild hair!
Dave, Where did you get yours from?
Congrats GP!!
Great Great Pics Everyone!!!
I was up at a lookout waiting for some Osprey action today when I became aware of something next to me. It was this Willie Wagtail who was sitting on the back of the bench, no more than 3 inches from my shoulder. He sat there for half a minute looking at me whilst I spoke to him. He then went and landed on the railing in front of me. These little birds really are fearless.
Lily, great photo of the ducks.
Nanny, love that mocker photo.
Margaret, that wagtail was really close, glad you got a photo.
Gardenpom, that photo of the jay is wonderful!
Dave, love that bluebird shot too!
My Tree Swallows have had their nests built for a couple weeks, now they're busy doing something else-on my railing in front of the window!
A real pretty series Duc!
Very nice everyone. Dave, loved the dueling finches! Lily, your finches are beautiful. GP, I am so hoping to see a Northern Parula this year. I'm being held hostage in the house though by a pair of wrens who are finally building a nest in the box that I put up for them. I don't want to scare them away.
This isn't a great pic too shady, but I don't want to take too many pictures of this little one and scare him. This young Robin still chirps for food and is not finding any himself. He's still really a big baby.
Great pics everyone. Love the wood duck, Meth.
Yep, ducbucin, it's love is in the air! LOL
Love your Aussie birds, Margaret.
Downy wp?
Yep
