Here's the Sharp Shinned Hawk that has visited my feeder area several times but this is the first time I was able to get a shot. It was very early morning.
Daily Pics. Vol.204
Super pic of the SSHawk, Al.
That Jay with the peanut is so so cute! I haven't seen my RBWP here lately, I wondered why? Hmmmm.
The American Nightingale seems to be happy as can be with her/his 'treasure'! :-)
Oh wow, GP and yur Ruella already blooming! The Jay on the cat is a great shot!!!
That stuff blooomed almost all winter....it has taken over the yard. Thanks, Lily.
Love the Jay on the cat shot!
Thanks. I guess it would be a great shot if the Jay was "sitting" on the cat. Standing would be a better description. He only stayed there a second, glad I was able to catch it.
Rose, do you have a golden retriever or two? LOL, those cuties pie titmouse are so cute, and has the know-how to make a cushiony bed for their youngs!
Yes Lily...we have a Golden! When DH saw the little TT going after the hair the other night he quickly brushed Red and set more hair out! That little TT knows where the hair comes from too...it almost went into the garage where Red spends a lot of time!! This little bird is really manic when she is going after the hair so I think she is about to lay an egg!!
I'm going to an auction today, so guess I'd better make my contribution early. This is a Black-necked Stilt. I'll post a couple of shots.
I bought a 10-foot tall Nelly Stevens Holly yesterday. Beautiful, already loaded with berries. They should deliver today. I hope I'm back as I'm afraid they might dig up my sprinkler line, even though I've flagged it. Should bring some fruit-eating birds into the yard. My wife remarked, "I'm surprised you would spend that much money on a bush." My response, "I think I'm to the point in life that I may have more dollars than days." :) And I'm not a wealthy man. Just comfortable.
Next project: a trellis for shade on the west side of the patio. I plan to make it from vinyl fencing so it will last. Saw some red Honeysuckle this week. Looked it up on the net and it also has red berries in the fall. I was at two nurseries yesterday and neither had heard of it, so may have to buy online or when I am in Dallas.
I'm rambling, I'll just post the pic and shut up.
Later. ...RDR

I love that shot of the Titmouse collecting the dog hair, Rose. That will sure be a comfy nest.
Great shots guys!
Frank, I love the Bunting and Chipping Sparrow!
Red, Great shots of the Stilt!
they are all great shots
Cool bird that stilt. His legs must be folded several times underneath his body! Red - your wife might say "more dollars than "sense" " but I'm on your side with the bushes. Two falls ago I planted Amelanchier (serviceberry), elderberry, and choke cherry for the birds. The serviceberry is loaded with buds this spring which means lots of berries in the winter for our feathered friends.
Oh very good OP! I love serviceberry, it's so beautiful!
Met..that hawk is gorgeous!!!!
Rose, the Hairy are very infrequent visitors and I do so wish they would come more often.
Red, I am addicted to daylilies and have over a dozen ordered to arrive. I told DH the other day...if I die before they all get here and planted he must make sure to plant them!!! Of course he just rolled his eyes at me...LOL
Yesterday was the first day that I saw NO Dark-eyed Juncos in the yard or anywhere. This is from last week.
so pretty!
Gorgeous bsharf!
