This was on the kitchen sink.......not so hot...........
April Flowers III
So much to catch up on here. Thanks Brenda for starting this thread. Gorgeous plants. Too much to mention but I have loved seeing each and every one. Are your streps grown close to the lights?
To Va_Wild_Rose, great growing from leaves and having blooming plants now. Fantasy streps are not so reliable from leaves. I have has several to bloom solid. I also have a plant of Fancy Pants that blooms the same way Gail's does. Both solid and fantasy blooms.
Ibrabec, what a nice goodie box! Very thoughtful of HGran who has some neat plants shown on this thread.
Gessiegail...on your Smelly Cat. Who else but Rob would name a plant that? Yes, it's a Bristol's.
Imadigger, your violets are so pretty.
syrumani...congrats on the little Tinkerbell.
jannich...love the Blue Leyla twins!
Cute baby, Sally. It sure is fun to see.
phoebesviolets, yes, I think Jacos Gem stays fairly compact. I guess you know it's from wild seed collected in S. Africa from Jaco Truter sent to Brian Grieve who grew them and named one Jaco's Gem.
Mrsbonnie..Jim sure is a good guy. Good luck and have fun growing all those leaves.
And, Plantladylin, your little chirita tamiana is a doll. I have meant to say so many times how I like seeing your surroundings and all the plants you grow in Florida.
I better find something to add. I've been busy and haven't taken the time for photos much less the needed grooming of plants and organizing, re-potting, etc. We know how that goes. One thing I am happy about is a new stand so I'll have more room to spread out. Everything was getting so crowded and jumbled.
Bristol's Moon Moth..first bloom.
Bristol's Moon Moth is beautiful, a real keeper! I'm thinking it's must have and that's from a person desperately trying to cut back on her streps. LOL
I don't generally grow my streps close to the lights but I have run out of room thus crowding some extras on a plant rack that isn't spaced properly for them. Good news is they are doing fine that way. I'm hoping to get a rack taken apart and re spaced this weekend....
First blooms on Chirita Kazu...

I am in the same place. I keep saying no more on the streps but love them and on it goes. Moon Moth is a keeper received from Gail. The plant room is more crowded with the extra stand but the plants will have more room and I will walk around sideways ;)
Cover your ears, Jim, but I do miss violets and may add a few more this year along with episcias for the top shelves.
Pretty chiritas!
Nancy Block variegated hybrid grown from a leaf from Bigoldbuck.
Yikes, GL...............that is one of the nicest NB's I have seen. Most of the Dilute series all look alike, but yours is outstanding!
Brenda, how you grow in zone 3 the best of the best plants, I don't know, but congratulations is in order!
gl, moonmoth is a beauty, need to get one of those.lol nb has some pretty ones. i really like curly shirly, think it's curte, i have a couple of hers that are just opening, she has not named, so it's exciteing to see what color they are.
bonnie
Wow,have I missed a lot on this thread! Gran, that Eucodonia is gorgeous and I love your minis.Brenda I love all your plants, but that Blue Dandy is really something.
Rose I love your Streps. and Sinns and that Spiritual Corridor is stunning.
Digger, what pretty AVs.And Jan had a beautiful set of twins and Syrumani and Sally have a new baby, too. LOL.
Great Sreps. GL.Maybe someday I will actually be able to say I grew one from a leaf. And thank you Phoebe and Gail for more eye candy!
I may have to go back through this thread and see if I missed anything!!
Lynn
say it isnt so goldleaf LOL a few violets arent back, i have my favs too
JIM
I agree about the NB dilutes all looking alike. The one I showed above has diluted more. It's interesting.
You will have a blooming plant from leaves, ibrabec. Possibly many before you know it. I only started with leaves this past fall.
Working on plants today and trying to catch up. Is that possible? Not in my case.
This one Big Blue is so hard to photograph. It is a fav in person. Started out here as an ugly starter plant 6 months ago and it has grown great guns. It needs re-potting every 2 - 21/2 months and is now in a 6" pot as shown. Beginning a new round of big vibrant purple blossoms. I can't wait to see how it will be at one year.
i love mine too,
JIM
I dont know ive never grown that
that is velma gail but i dont know what you have, looks like susan or one of those, its pretty
JIM
phoebesviolets, you won't regret buying Purple Panda. It is one of the best streps. Always blooming and grows so nice. It's one I will always keep and grow. Maybe later (after I groom it ;)) I'll take a picture.
Thanks, Jim and Gail.
Beautiful Purple Panda GL! Mine is a baby, but very nice! They had some begonias, but I've been there when they have more--I think they tend to have more in the warmer months. We are going back next month b/c we didn't have time to really see everything--I want another look at the orchids and begonias.

Jim, I know mine is Hot Ticket............by Thompson.............I like GL's better...........
Your baby Purple Panda will grow and you will enjoy it. I love orchids and could if I let myself get carried away with them. So far so good.
Neat begonia with lots of spots!
That begonia is about 15 feet tall! Don't ask me how they do it!
I'm sure the plants thrive in that atmosphere. Looks like Logees had lots of streps.
I agree Gail these are prettier--I hadn't noticed hers have no name--how does she identify them?
These are just ones she didn't want to keep and give a name I guess? I did see one on ebay from lilriver that looks just like my red one from Jim............and it has a name...........maybe she waits until she sees how popular they are. Jim, what's the answer?
I just checked again this morning and look what I found. Two leaves are pushing up mouse ears. Oh boy. Now I have to check more often for the rest to start. Poor little Poochie rotted away. You can see her in the back row. I've left her alone. Maybe she will send me mouse ears. You never know.
My Happy Time that I killed, showed some green in the pot, so I left it alone on the shelf. Stuck a wick in it, and put it on the grid way in back and ignored it. Well, she is getting ready to bloom. So now my new 'motto' is 'Never Say Never'. You never know what these little plants are capable of.
Ain't nature Great ^_^
phoebe, she's very pretty so I would just think, more prety flowers ^_^
Imadigger..........you are doing fantastic!! I will be happy to send you leaves when you want........but don't give up on even those that look bad..........sometimes I pull them out and wish I hadn't because many times even when they look horrible, they put out babies...........
so, gessie, you're telling me that even if the leaf is dying that there probably is a baby underneath?? [I hope, I hope].
It is certainly possible. Look at two of mine! Sometimes I try and cut the dead part off with scissors if I can..........and leave the rest.....
ive had babies pop up even after the leaf has died, not alwasy but sometimes
Oh! goody. So there is still hope. I hope!, I hope!, I hope!
