With 124 posts n the second thread I thought I start a new one for April. So enjoyable to see all the pretty flower pictures on this rainy rainy day in ID.
This is Ilsa grown from a leave Raingazer sent me, I think the blooms look like a watercolor painting.

April Flowers III
Wonderful flowers!! I am jealous of your rain!!!!! We need some!
There's my kitten face yet again--it seems to flower really well! Gonna get one...are they small?
Gorgeous Brenda!! They look huge.
Lynn
I need you sun and warmth Sally! ^_^
Out of the five streps shown here Kitten Face is definitely the smallest grower. Her blooms are prettier in person too, it's hard to catch the light colored ones at their best.
Lynn my plants have gone nuts in size and it's time to whack them back so I can keep them on the shelves I already have. I've cut streps in half with success before (there is a period of shock and wilt before they perk back up) and I'm going to have to do it again with several I have.
My mini Kohleria Flirt is doing the best it ever has, I love this plant!
~Brenda
Brenda- Flirt is gorgeous!!!!! Lou
It certainly is!!
People can talk about kohlerias loving heat all they want to, but you are proof that they are thriving in zone 3!!! That 'Flirt' is just picture perfect in every way...........
bmedel- does it take awhile for them to get that many blooms?
I thought my falling stars was doing well--but yours is spectacular--I love gloria also--plan to get that one. Black Magic is Gorgeous! Is it really that dark?
Gloria is a sport of falling stars
Ah, so I had it backwards, Falling Stars came first and then Gloria.... thanks Jim. I like them together, mirrored faces in different colors.
Yes, Black Magic is really that dark, the darkest strep I've seen in person.
Mortswife I'd say that my Gloria plant is about 8 months old and that was the fullest bloom to date.
Ramblin' Spots trailing violet. Love the lavender flecks on the pink blooms.

Great pictures,Brenda!!
Such gorgeous blooms everyone! Brenda, I love that Kohleria 'Flirt' ... really beautiful plant! Are Falling Stars and Gloria Kohleria's also? They are both really pretty but I especially like Gloria! I don't know why I'm not attracted to the paler colored blooms. Now, that Black Magic is truly magic ... a wonderful color!
Gran: Love the looks of that Eucodonia ... are those leaves as huge as they look? Pretty bloom. Those mini AV's are too cute!
I sure wish I could learn some patience to be able to grow Gessie's like you ladies! I sometimes think I just have way too many different kinds of plants! I should just focus on one or two different genus's (is that the right spelling of that word?) If I'd stick to just Gesneriad's maybe I could have a bunch of bloomers all the time!
My two Chirita tamiana's are blooming again, I will try to find my camera and take a picture.
Love your eucodnia, Gran!
Brenda.........may I move to Idaho? Your streps are more than magnificent. Just out of curiosity I have to ask if your inside temps get down in the low 60's during the winter. Or........are you letting them get that awesome sun coming through your giant windows.
In any case, I am so impressed with how large they are and how healthy they must be to bloom like they do!
Thanks for all the pictures, ladies and gents.....
Gran those mini violets are precious and the Eucodonia hybrids are gorgeous, love the foliage and the blooms.
Lin, Gloria and Falling Stars are streps but ones with smaller blooms. Chirita Tamiana are some of my absolute favorites, can't wait to see your pictures.
Gail my plant room is 59 to 61 degrees at night all winter but in the day time with just the lights it gets in to the low 70's. I need to find a room sized air conditioner for this summer or they're all gonna croak from the heat! With highs now in the 30's to 40's I'm having to crack the window all day to maintain 75.
B Blue Lemon is hard to catch the colors on but the yellow throats show up nicely.
We are already having 90 degree days and I am thinking about a window unit in my office where I have 4 grow lights stands packed.............can't keep it cool enough to grow streps..............and I am running the lights at night instead of day to help keep the temps down.........
Keep those wonderful pictures coming...........everyone........lifts our days up high!!
hard to tell from that picture bonnie, could be anything phoebe is that hey mei,I cant keep one of those alive to save my life
JIM
i think it stays fairly compact
JIM
Wow, Gail .. y'all are having temp's in the 90's already? Can you imagine what it will be like in another couple of months? We've had glorious weather the past two months ... warm temp's in mid to upper 80º range, low humidity and nice breezes. I wish it could stay like this year round but I know we are in for the horrible humidity real soon! This has been the nicest spring we've had in years and I'm really enjoying it.
Here's my Chirita tamiana blooming again. One of my very favorite plants!
Tundra Snowflake is a cutie!
Lin--your Chirita Tamiana looks just like mine! they could be twins! LOL
It is the winds that kill my plants, Lin. It has been gusting to over 40 the last two days.......just wears my poor plants out..............
Jan,,,,,,,,,,,,,I am so happy for you!!!! And.........to make it Leyla is even better! She is one of the prettiest blooms ever..........
