#1 is indeed lovely as they all are. You'll have to remember that angle of the sun for the future, very wonderful effect!
WESTERN HUMMINGBIRDS - VOL 2
Adel, wonderful pics...Have you figured out if they are nesting yet?
Mtngirl...............can't tell. The numbers are back up again and they are zooming every which way.
Greeting everyone! I really enjoyed all of the pictures of the hummingbirds. I live in southern CA. I just put 3 feeders out, but have not had much luck. It's only the second day.
The ants have found one though. Help!!!!
I also put a golden find feeder close to the humming bird feeders. Could that be keeping the hummers away.
Hi Splashes, I don't know what a golden find feeder is.
Oh I would not feel comfortable using anything sticky around birds. (especially hummingbirds)
Duc, That pic is adorable!!!
I've heard of people using a little oil on the feeder hanger, too, or you can add a water trap that will drown the ants before they get to the nectar (one of my feeders has one built in). The Tanglefoot shouldn't be a problem if it is in a place where ants, not bird feathers, can go. Depends on the set-up, but I would be careful.
I'm guessing she means a gold finch feeder??
Wow, great wonderful pics, Adel
and the water shot is too cool, duc.
Grabbed my camera to take a pic of a bug,
and a male Anna -- kinda young -- swung by
and took interest in the columbine next to me.
got 4 shots, never as good as you two,
but fun to see. Been many around and getting
quite friendly, the best one though is something
I haven't seen in mamy many years here and that is
a California quail. Again no camera, but to see
one brought me back when I was little and fed
a huge flock corn and seeds and they acted like
chickens when we lived across the valley.
Been a good weekend, getting my fingernails
almost permanately soil packed.
Have a good weekend and I'll just show the other 3
without commentary.
