SW, is that Zippy posted at 7:23? What a great pic of her attire. The tail and her wings. Awesome.

Nice pictures, the weather cleared up, but there's a hawk hanging around, so no birds are flying right now. So I'll just enjoy everyone else's. ^_^

Wonderful images, SingingWolf. Good to put a face to the hands of Lone Wolf, holding that tiny hummingbird when you first found it.

Duc, I'm with everyone else in wanting to hear how on earth you band hummingbirds.

Yes, I forgot to mention that. Those tiny little legs!!

SingingWolf, I love all your photos and am sure that if you start talking and standing by your feeders, the birds will become used to you more and more. We have our table and chairs about 3 ft. away from a feeder out on the deck and while we eat, the hummers just ignore us and go on about their feeding. It seems to me the Anna's are the most social of all the hummers.

Also, now that your "Sweetie Pie" (great photo) is able to stand close, when you clean and refill your feeder, hang it up but put your finger close to a feeding hole and just stand there quietly. You may be surprised how quickly they'll come up and sit on it. This is my hubbie in this picture.

Here's another suggestion. Take your feeder down for a couple minutes and put some of the sugar water into a red lid (the lid of a peanut butter jar or a cap from a spray can-cleaned well). This will probably work best very early in the morning when they're still very hungry, but please don't do this very long because the birds need their juice.

My hubbie took this photo of me holding this one.

Thanks KC, I dmailed duc, and she graciously agreed to post the banding photos on the new thread so we don't have to go looking for it.
duc, took your advice, as both feeders were empty this morning. Follow me over to the new thread, to see what happened. ^_^

Here is where we are going: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/977788/

See you there!
