Arlington TX RU ended......What was that plant I took home??

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Well the wind has died down and out treasures are before us. Now do you know what you have and how to take care of it???

Does anyone know what this is and who gave it to me...??
I don't remember what the name was.....anyone recognize it???
Who ended up with my........??

We have all ended up with things that weren't labeled, lost labels, or just plain forgotten what we were told. Unlike T.J. we didn't write it down!

Post your pictures and put your questions here.
(I am sure I will have some later...too tired to do anything but unload today!)

Great day of trading, we had a wonderful time.

My family and I had a great time. Thanks again to all the organizers!

Thanks to Sheila & Herman for organizing and to Josephine & Frank for helping!! I had a blast, as usual! Can't wait til the next one!

I had such a good time, as always!

Thank you so much to Sheila, Herman, Josephine, Frank, organizers, food bringers, plant traders, old friends and new!

Who brought me the brazilian rock rose? I don't remember asking for one, but I love it!

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

Josephine, what type of Penstemmon did I get? (I'm thinking I shouldn't have planted it when I got home, what with a possible freeze coming tonight.)

Carla

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

TJ ..... writing down the names is SOOOOOOOO cheating! ;-)

I would like to know who the person is that brought chicken manure in a file box for a door prize and called it " Le Poop " I think that was a stroke of genius, great sense of humor, please tell us who you are.
Josephine.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Lynea, I gave you the Brazilian rock rose.
Carla, It is Brazos penstemon, Penstemon tenuis, and don't worry it is hardy.
Josephine.

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

Josephine, Cocoa-Lulu brought "Le Poop"

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

oO :-O~Lynea... giving me ideas for a (next meet) door prize..oO

(We get a lot of "Le Poop" from only 2 of these little hens, lol!)

That is adorable Deb, your daughter and the chicken too.

Ah, thank you for the rock rose, Josephine. You know what I love!

Too cute, Deb! I would love to have a silkie. If you get a roo, lmk. I'll find you something to trade for a few fertilized eggs ;0) I wish I could get the kids into showing chickens. They're begging me for goats.... I'm not real fond of goats.

I hope the winner of LePoop wasn't turned off to organic gardening.lol

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, it was just too cute Lynea, and chicken manure is very high in nitrogen.
Josephine.

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

CocoaLulu, can I get on the "reserve" list for goat poo? You can call it Le Poop Pellets! :-)

Carla

I don't want goats, Carla. I'm not listening to you, fingers in ears ***lalalalalala*** ;0)

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL!!!! ;-)

Carla

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

But, you could make goat cheese! Yum!

Trenton(close to), TX(Zone 8a)

YUK!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Will check into it Lynea. I was thinking on getting some just so Tango could brood on them and raise... She really has a mothers heart, she would raise anything she could lay on. Then what to do with any roos I get from the chicks would be the question. :-/

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Lynea~You wouldn't have to mow....

Lol, Wildcat I love goat cheese, it an acquired taste tho :0)

Sweezel, it's so good to see you posting!!! Did winter treat you well?

I got a dairy cow this winter and she's providing us with more cheese, butter and milk then we can handle :0) I thought goats were the perfect answer to our invasive wisteria, but wisteria is toxic to goats. See, no use for goats, non what so ever! lol

Deb, that's just what I need a silkie for. I heard they're the best mothers ever. My girls always look surprised when they lay an egg...like, "where did that come from". No motherly instinct what so ever :0)

Dallas, TX

Deb, what kind of chicken is that? I never seen such a thing! and what a pretty picture of the Chicken and Jackie is gorgeous! I want a copy of that beautiful Picture! Please email me a copy.

Dallas, TX

Never mind ;)

Are you going to get some chickens, Sylvia? I bet they would love all those hosta plants.lol

Lubbock, TX(Zone 7b)

DH says "Thank you" for 'Le Poop', Cocoa. Don't worry - we brought the compost tea which was enriched with essence of horsey poo. Madeleine and I have tried to talk her dad into chickens (won't happen). So I'm glad I finally get to try out the 'good stuff'. :)

The kind person who gave me the orange daylilly and groundcover sedum and canna - I'm sorry I am terrible with names and please let me know who you are because your name is not on the plants or the box you gave me and you really didn't get a good trade since I didn't have much left with me. I would like to send you the rain lillies and hens and chicks that you wanted. Just let me know who you are so I can dmail you.

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Stacey, I gave you groundcover sedum in a grocery bag--is that the one you mean? Don't worry; you gave me the rain lilies I asked for. Hope I can get them planted tomorrow. I didn't bring any cannas or daylilies, though.

Sheila, did you give me a poppy? I have an untagged plant here that suffered wind damage but looks like it wants to be a pretty poppy. Has a big bud on it. Your package of poppy seeds was sitting on top of it.

Lubbock, TX(Zone 7b)

BTW Josephine, Pat, and Stephanie: I think your seeds blew away! :0 I had them in one of my boxes and DH and kiddos were helping unload and when I looked for them they were gone. Josephine, I have more of the A. speciosa so I will mail you some (I guess you are in the exchange?). Stephanie and Pat, sorry but I was giving yall the last of the Batface cuphea seeds I had so I don't have any more to send. But Stephanie, you should have 2 seedlings (if the wind didn't rip them right out of the soil!). Stacey

Lubbock, TX(Zone 7b)

No Pattie - I beleive this was someone that I had not previously corresponded with, maybe someone who had not posted on the trade thread. Very nice lady, but I felt terrible that I didn't have much left to give her after she went to the trouble to bring stuff I had asked for.

BTW, there is a small piece of paper towel in the bottom of that lily bag; those are a bunch of little offsets/bulbettes/whatever you call them that were just off the main bulbs. I guess they are like baby bulbs???? Don't know anything about bulbs, just starting to learn, but I think those will grow into rain lillies if you plant them. :)

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Stacey, the seeds you are referring to were in the box with the Lindheimer muhly so I have mine, I can save the others for the next swap and give them to Pat and Stephanie.
Josephine.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Stacey, the little seedlings are doing great! They're safe and sound in my sunroom. I don't think I'll need any seeds at this time, so don't worry about that. If these don't survive, then I'll just add them back to my wish list for future RUs!

Lubbock, TX(Zone 7b)

Oh thank goodness! I asked my husband to take that box to your table so he probably didn't notice the seeds in that box. I'm glad you have them.

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

Hey Lynea, yes pretty good. I've got major spring fever now, so either want to be out in the yard or sneak some time on DG. I am getting so behind on my class work!

Got your own dairy cow? Yum... fresh milk and butter, even better. Nice thought about the goats could eating all that wisteria though. Too bad it's toxic.

Lubbock, TX(Zone 7b)

OK Stephanie, hopefully those little guys will turn into nice plants and then you can collect your own seeds for the future. :)

Dallas, TX

I had a wonderful time meeting new and old friends... I really appreciate all the left overs I was given. Now that I am retired I am going to learn how to plant seeds and do cuttings so I will have something to bring other that Hostas. The three or four hostas I did give out if you need some info on what to do with them just holler! Sarah, I do hope you holler louder! lol
Stephanietx great meeting you, I will let you know when I get that piece of Barb(? lol
Maggie it was so nice meeting you, you are a hoot! I hope you make it to next RU's. Everytime I look at my little Ceramic head, I laugh that you got one too, while we sitting there thinking our numbers blew away! lol
Deb I still want to know what kind of chicken that is ... I sure hope you dont eat it ... never seen a chicken with Fur before. Sheila, tell Herman he really played the part of the Gestapo. LOL Now that he got my picture dont be hunting me down for the four dollars! LOL I am really going to put it in the mail! I am so glad he is doing ok, he is hoot now that he is feeling better. you guys did an awsome job of putting things together. Chuck tell Marcia it was really nice meeting her, I knew i would like her when I saw her picture. I hope you guys had a good time, I knew you would fit right in.
Last but not least who made that ... or was that Peach Cobbler with the nuts? That Blurberry or blackberry thingey was the da bomb too!
Some one gave me a little thing of seeds just starting ... look like little pinheads ... suppose to be some red plant ... I sure I hope I can keep them going ... anyway I will pray over it. :)
See yall at the next Roundup!

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Stacey, Madeline, Jake and Emily were such sweet helpers. I never got so much for my money! They are so polite and adorable. You are doing a great job with them.

BTW your daffodils wound up going back home with me. I had them there for you, but somehow the tag fell off of them and I wasn't sure who they were supposed to go to. I checked my list after I got home and it was little ol' you that was supposed to be getting them.

I'll double them for you at the next RU!

Shelia, Josephine and Frank did such a great job and I must say I really appreciated all their hard work. It was a well put together RU!

I keep saying that the Arlington RU is too far and I shouldn't go to it. I just can't pass it up, because that was my first RU and I really love the people there.

Sylvia, I made the blackberry cobbler. The pinheads you got are Red Velvet Cockscombs and they are the most beautiful things you will lay eyes on. They need full sun.

I attached a photo of them.
