Secret Garden Project for spring of '09

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks, April! I have not done much more on this garden, though I did do some weeding in there this past weekend. The moss is really looking nice, and I cleaned it all up. Will take some pics soon. Most of the area is a weedy mess right now. I have Jack-in-the-Pulpits growing in there, too.

Looking forward to some recent picture's Karen. I just think it is special that you and your sister are sharing such a nice project with each other. It looked great last year but I'll bet it is going to be grand this year. Will be looking for new photo's. I would sure like to do something like that here.

Unfortunately, with my sister, she gets projects started, but she never finishes them. I usually end up doing most of the work, so then it becomes mostly my project. And if she does finish something, it's pretty much a half-a** job, hate to say. She comes up with good ideas, but I wish she would finish something. I'm more meticulous about things. She does a lot more on the interior of the house and such than I do. She does a lot of housework (something I abhor!), and she likes to tackle projects like wallpapering, painting, and other diy projects like that. She enjoys that, and I enjoy the gardening. She can't take long hours in the garden. She's always telling me she doesn't know how I can do it for so long. She can't handle the heat well, either. I hate it if the temps are in the 90's or higher with a lot of humidity. I don't like a lot of heat, but I can handle it better than she can. She and I are different in many ways.

Karen, Sounds like a good team. I am sure you will get it done and it will be charming.

I have huge ideas and used to take them all on at once by jumping in with both feet. I have managed to become more of a one toe in at a time person of late. Now, I try to get done in the day what I know will look OK if I can't, or don't, get back to it for a long time. It takes me longer this way as there is a lot of starting and cleaning up each time, but I would have a billion messes everywhere that would go unfinished forever if I didn't reign myself in. My inner still self wants to be the Queen of Half-a**, so I sympathize with your sis.

I think that is why I hate the reconstruction mess in our yard right now. It had to all be torn up at once with heavy equipment and we now have big piles of timber, dirt and gravel all sitting there and will be for a long time. Ugly mess. But not my mess! Patti

I sympathize with you, Patti!

I will try and get some work done in my secret garden today. Will have to do some spraying for lily beetles and caterpillars first. That's a must. I may only get weeding done in the secret garden, but I will take some current pics to post.
